TG Metals Encounters High-Grade Lithium at Lake Johnston
THE DRILL SERGEANT: TG Metals (ASX: TG6) joined the ranks of currently hot lithium exploration companies after reporting on exploration drilling activities at the company’s Lake Johnston lithium-nickel-gold projecin Western Australia.
TG Metals conducted a RC drilling program designed as the initial test of the Burmeister lithium soil anomaly it had previously defined.
The Burmeister lithium soil anomaly covers an area of approximately 4.5km by 1.7km, with the Phase 1 drilling testing a higher tenor area of anomalism.
Drilling intersected spodumene bearing pegmatite with high-grades up to 2.28 per cent lithium dioxide (Li2O).
Better results include:
9m at 1.35 per cent Li2O from 30m, including 1m at 2.03 per cent Li2O from 32m and 1m at 2.21 per cent Li2O from 37m; and
9m at 1.62 per cent Li2O from 87m, including 1m at 2.28 per cent Li2O from 87m
“These are exceptional initial drilling results especially since we have only tested such a small part of the soil anomaly,” TG Metals CEO David Selfe said in the company’s ASX announcement.
“There appears to be multiple pegmatites with consistent widths of between 8 to 12 metres, that are completely mineralised with spodumene.
“The targeted soil geochemical anomaly is very large and remains open, particularly to the east.
“The next phase of drilling will begin shortly and is proposed to test both the lateral and depth potential of this lithium pegmatite system.
“We are planning for an immediate follow up drilling campaign.”
