Wildcat Resources Hits More Lithium and Shouts ‘Tabba Tabba Doo!’
THE DRILL SERGEANT: Wildcat Resources (ASX: WC8) announced the third batch of assay results the opening drilling program at the company’s Tabba Tabba lithium project in the Pilbara of Western Australia.
Wildcat Resources declared the assay results from a further 58 RC holes (22 from Leia) indicate Tabba Tabba has potential to host a Tier-1 lithium deposit at Leia.
The company said that diamond core and initial mineralogical work via Fourier-transform infra-red (FTIR) has confirmed (coarse) spodumene as the dominant lithium mineral.
Results from the Leia Pegmatite in the Central Cluster include:
TARC128
85 metres at 1.5 per cent lithium dioxide (Li2O) from 133m (est. true width), including 9m at 3.0 per cent Li2O from 199m and 13m at 2.3 per cent Li2O from 136m;
TARC118
38m at 1.1 per cent Li2O from 132m (est. true width);
TARC123
35m at 1.0 per cent Li2O from 127m (est. true width);
TARC121
21m at 1.0 per cent Li2O from 45m (est. true width); and
TARC144
85m at 1.3 per cent Li2O from 167m (est. true width), including 10m at 2.5 per cent Li2O from 175m.
“We continue to be encouraged by the Leia Pegmatite’s scale, grade and tabular consistency having still not found the edges of it with drilling,” Wildcat Resources managing director Samuel Ekins said in the company’s ASX announcement.
“It really feels as though we are in the midst of a Tier 1 lithium discovery at Tabba Tabba.”
Tabba Tabba is on granted Mining Leases near some of the world’s largest hard-rock lithium mines.
Wildcat believes Tabba Tabba is emerging as a potential world-class, Tier 1 lithium project, being one of six pegmatite prospects within a 3.2km long pegmatite field.
All pegmatite prospects at Tabba Tabba are open and Wildcat is continuing its aggressive exploration campaign with two RC drill rigs and a diamond drill rig.
