Mt Monger Resources Commences Drilling at East Laverton

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Mt Monger Resources (ASX: MTM) has commenced aircore (AC) and reverse circulation (RC) percussion drilling at the company’s Pt Kidman and Seahorse prospects located near Laverton in Western Australia.

Mt Monger Resources is planning to drill across the Pt Kidman prospect to evaluate rare earth element (REE) geochemical anomalies and an interpreted nickel-cobalt gossan.

The drilling will test both newly defined REE geochemical soil anomalies in the north and east of the prospect area and extend the mineralised zones intersected by previous drilling.

A small program of RC percussion drilling is also proposed at Pt Kidman to test a possible nickel-cobalt gossan exposure that was identified by recent rock chip sampling in the area.

AC and RC percussion drilling has been scheduled at the Seahorse prospect to test multi-element surface geochemistry results from surveys that demonstrated gold, nickel, copper, cobalt, lead, zinc geochemical anomalies while providing further confirmation the East Laverton area contains inliers of deformed greenstone rocks interpreted from regional aeromagnetic images.

“A new phase of AC drilling targeting extensions of known rare earth element mineralisation at the Point Kidman prospect is underway,” Mt Monger Resources exploration manager Antony Zebisch said in the company’s ASX announcement.

“This program follows up on our previous drilling campaign and recent soil sampling results.

“Furthermore, RC drilling is being used to target an anomalous nickel-cobalt gossan in the Pt Kidman prospect.

“We also have exciting geochemical anomalies at the Seahorse prospect that we are targeting with both RC and AC drilling, including gold targets and an area where a 1.1 per cent nickel and 1.57 per cent cobalt rock chip sample was taken.

Mt Monger Resources Assays Confirm Gold Intersection

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Mt Monger Resources (ASX: MTM) reported on recently re-assayed mineralised drill core from a previously reported RC drilling program completed at the company’s Mt Monger gold project near Kalgoorlie in Western Australia.

Mt Monger Resources has now received detailed one metre assay results from a program of reverse circulation (RC) drilling that was completed at a number of prospect areas at the Mt Monger gold project.

The company declared the one metre drill samples confirm and refine gold mineralisation intersections, returning:

22MMRC004
7 metres at 3.12 grams per tonne gold from 48m including, 4m at 5.01g/t gold from 48m; and

22MMRC009
4m at 1.5g/t gold from 45m including 1m at 3.22g/t gold from 46m.

“Initial composite sample results from this drilling program highlighted the potential for gold mineralised structures in all the areas which were tested at Mt Monger,” Mt Monger Resources managing director Lachlan Reynolds said in the company’s ASX announcement.

“Pleasingly, the new assays have confirmed the intersections and provided better resolution on the gold grade distribution.

“There is certainly scope for the discovery of a larger mineralised system.

“Based on these new results, the company is considering further drilling to infill and extend the coverage of the intersected mineralised structures.”

Mt Monger Resources Reviews REE potential at East Laverton Project

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Mt Monger Resources (ASX: MTM) is becoming increasingly confident of the REE potential of the Pt Kidman prospect, part of the company’s East Laverton project in Western Australia.

Mt Monger Resources recently completed a review of rare earth element (REE) potential Pt Kidman that entailed drilling that intersected encouraging widths and grades of REE mineralisation in all areas that were tested.

The area of known REE anomalies extends over and area of more than 20km by 10km, which the company has interpreted to indicate the Pt Kidman area represents a potentially large-scale, rare earth element project.

The recent drilling program only tested a small part of this prospective terrane but has locally shown good continuity and grade within the mineralised zone within the weathering profile over Archaean granitoid rocks.

“Since listing in July 2021 Mt Monger has been excited to test the potential for shallow, rare earth element mineralisation at our East Laverton project,” Mt Monger Resources managing director Lachlan Reynolds said in the company’s ASX announcement.

“A work program since that time has recently culminated in a reconnaissance aircore drilling program that confirmed the presence of broad, shallow mineralisation in the weathering profile over parts of the target area.

“The successful drilling has emphasised the potential scale of the REE mineralised terrane.

“The company’s exploration team now have identified numerous opportunities to test for both extensions of the known mineralisation and for new zones of mineralisation.

“Planning and permitting is currently underway to undertake further drilling and we are keen to understand if the area contains higher-grade zones and what variations exist in the ‘basket’ of rare earth elements that the mineralisation contains.”

Mt Monger Resources Confirms REE Mineralisation at East Laverton

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Mt Monger Resources (ASX: MTM) reported assay results from a recent reconnaissance aircore drilling campaign at the Pt Kidman prospect, part of the company’s East Laverton project in Western Australia.

Mt Monger Resources said the drilling had intersected good widths and grades of rare earth element (REE) mineralisation in all areas that were tested.

Total Rare Earth Oxide (TREO) mineralisation intersections, include:

22ELAC048
15m at 1,461ppm TREO, from 21m;

22ELAC003
5m at 1,790ppm TREO, from 27m;

22ELAC043
6m at 1,493ppm TREO, from 12m;

22ELAC046
2m at 1,889ppm TREO, from 15m; and

22ELAC039
3m at 1,753ppm TREO, from 27m.

“These assays confirm the presence of shallow, rare earth element mineralisation across three broad areas of the Pt Kidman prospect,” Mt Monger Resources managing director Lachlan Reynolds said in the company’s ASX announcement.

“The mineralised saprolitic clay horizon shows continuity over a significant area and only a small fraction of the overall target area has been tested.

“Elsewhere, surface samples and historical drilling results indicate that there is substantial additional potential for zones of clay-hosted rare earth mineralisation.

“Planning and permitting is currently underway to undertake further drilling.

“These results suggest that the Pt Kidman prospect is an exciting opportunity that could evolve into a new critical minerals deposit of importance.”

Mt Monger Resources Commences RC Drilling Program

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Mt Monger Resources (ASX: MTM) has kicked off a program of reverse circulation (RC) percussion drilling at the company’s Mt Monger gold project near Kalgoorlie in Western Australia.

Mt Monger Resources said the 2,000 to 2,500 metre drilling program is planned for the Duchess of York South, Red Dale North and Peters Dam prospect areas.

All prospect areas are high-priority targets identified by the company from historical drilling that intersected noteworthy gold mineralisation.

Other identification methods include Mt Monger’s recent soil sampling that highlighted potential for gold mineralised structures that are poorly tested by the historical drilling that was typically broad-spaced and shallow.

“A new phase of RC drilling targeting gold mineralisation is underway at our Mt Monger project,” Mt Monger Resources managing director Lachlan Reynolds said in the company’s ASX announcement.

“This work will focus on a number of different prospect areas where historical drilling has intersected mineralisation and where our recent soil sampling program has highlighted surface gold anomalies along potentially mineralised structures.

“Our exploration team has identified numerous opportunities for both increasing the size and continuity of known gold mineralisation and for potentially making new discoveries and we are keen test these targets with the drilling.”

Mt Monger Resources Scores Anomalous REE Soil Geochemical Results at Pt Kidman

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Mt Monger Resources (ASX: MTM) reported results of soil and rock chip geochemical sampling from the company’s East Laverton project in the north Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia.

Mt Monger Resources carried out soil sampling on the Pt Kidman prospect area that has identified a previously unknown rare earth element (REE) anomaly that is open along strike and is considered by the company to warrant further follow-up.

The program comprised a total of approximately 350 samples that demonstrated a total rare earth element (TREE) anomaly, which is the combined results for 13 elements, including: lanthanum, cerium, praseodymium, neodymium, samarium, europium, gadolinium, terbium, dysprosium, erbium, ytterbium, yttrium and scandium.

“The company has been active at its East Laverton project which we consider to be highly prospective for gold, REE and base metals,” Mt Monger Resources managing director Lachlan Reynolds said in the company’s ASX announcement.

“Our ongoing work program of soil sampling is giving us a basis to develop high priority targets for drill testing.

“Our technical team is particularly focussed on understanding the REE mineralisation that occurs within the Pt Kidman prospect area.

“The available exploration data indicates that anomalism is widespread and locally very high grade.

“These sampling results, which come from a new area, reinforce that further follow-up exploration is required to evaluate the potential for an ionic-style, clay-hosted REE deposit.

“Work to-date has defined a very large prospective area and the company is preparing an initial drilling program to test the priority areas.”
