THE DRILL SERGEANT: Metal Hawk (ASX: MHK) reported a run in with further high-grade gold whilst undertaking exploration at the company’s 100 per cent-owned Leinster South project near Leinster in Western Australia.
Metal Hawk carried out rock chip sampling at the Siberian Tiger target that identified high-grade gold in quartz veining revealing the gold trend at Siberian Tiger extends along the entire 3.8km strike length of greenstone to the new Tysons prospect near the granite contact to the southeast.
Other assay results from the September field campaign include a quartz vein sample grading 22 grams per tonne gold located at Tysons, just off the eastern tip of the greenstone belt.
Follow up mapping and further sampling has been carried out at the prospect.
“We are pleased to see more outstanding gold results from our field activities at Leinster South, which is shaping up as a potentially large mineralised system with multiple untested gold prospects,” Metal Hawk managing director Will Belbin said in the company’s ASX announcement.
“The fact that there has been so little exploration on this project is hard to fathom, considering we are located in one of the most mature and gold-endowed parts of the northeastern goldfields.
“Preparations for RC drilling at Siberian Tiger are underway and a drilling contractor will be appointed once a heritage clearance survey has been completed.
“We will also be planning to test several other exciting gold prospects at Leinster South in 2025.
“I would like to thank the Watarra Aboriginal Corporation and the Darlot people for enabling the timely execution of the Leinster South heritage agreement.
“We look forward to working with the Traditional Owners and progressing our field activities.”
THE DRILL SERGEANT: Metal Hawk (ASX: MHK) has a program of diamond drilling underway at the company’s Berehaven nickel project on the outskirts of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia.
Metal Hawk has been carrying out systematic exploration at Berehaven since its discovery of high-grade nickel sulphide in September 2021 at the Commodore prospect, located five kilometres north of the Blair nickel mine.
The company has kicked off diamond drilling at the Torana prospect that is located about 1.5km north and along strike from Commodore, targeting a strong late-time off-hole DHEM (downhole electromagnetic) conductor.
“As we progress our systematic search for nickel sulphides at Berehaven, with deeper drilling we are gaining a better understanding of the mineralised system beneath the zone of extensive weathering,” Metal Hawk managing director Will Belbin said in the company’s ASX announcement.
“This is the first diamond drillhole at Torana and is testing a compelling DHEM massive nickel sulphide target.”

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Metal Hawk (ASX: MHK) has commenced up to 3,000m of RC drilling aimed at bedrock-testing priority nickel sulphide targets at the company’s Berehaven project south-east of Kalgoorlie in the West Australian goldfields.
Metal Hawk explained the RC drilling is on the heels of aircore (AC) drilling completed in December 2021 at the Commodore nickel sulphide discovery with the aim to define the fertile ultramafic stratigraphy trending north-northwest through the western half of the underexplored project area.
“The AC drilling has given us our first look at the geology along strike from Commodore and it clearly supports our interpretation, giving us more confidence with our targeting,” Metal Hawk managing director Will Belbin said in the company’s ASX announcement.
“With the new multi-element geochemical data, we are refining and prioritising this next stage of deeper RC drilling as we bedrock-test these quality EM targets.”
Since RC drilling commenced in September 2021, Metal Hawk has discovered high-grade nickel sulphide and gold mineralisation at the Berehaven project.
The company has consolidated over 90 square kilometres of underexplored tenure at Berehaven, which is situated north of the Blair Nickel sulphide deposit.

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Metal Hawk (ASX: MHK) reported assay results from the first reverse circulation (RC) drilling program undertaken at the company’s Kanowna East project in the West Australian goldfields.
Metal Hawk drilled 12 RC holes for a total of 1,325 metres, designed to bedrock-test a number of broad gold anomalies from recent aircore (AC) drilling at the Little Lake and Western Tiger prospects.
At Little Lake, six RC holes were drilled, hitting new gold intercepts, including:
KERC012
4m at 17.8 grams per tonne gold from 75m, including 1m at 42.7g/t gold from 76m; and
KERC010
1m at 2.9g/t gold from 66m and 5m at 0.52g/t gold from 100m.
Five RC holes were completed at the Western Tiger prospect, following-up high-grade gold intersected in AC drilling in April 2021, returning:
KERC003
2m at 1.45g/t gold from 73m and 5m at 1.59g/t gold from 80m;
KERC004
1m at 1.42g/t gold from 75m;
KERC005
5m at 1.95g/t gold from 70m; and
KERC006
5m at 1.09g/t gold from 69m Including 2m at 1.54g/t gold from 69m.
“Our first RC drilling program at Kanowna East has further highlighted the potential of this gold project,” Metal Hawk managing director Will Belbin said in the company’s ASX announcement.
“Following the company’s nickel sulphide discovery at Berehaven and the successful capital raising in October, the company is very well positioned to continue delivering exploration success across its highly prospective gold and nickel projects.”
Metal Hawk indicated its next stage of RC drilling will follow up the new gold intercepts at Little Lake and Western Tiger and will further explore the poorly tested Archaean bedrock for gold mineralisation.
