Kin Mining Boosts LGP with High-Grade Kyte Drill Results
THE DRILL SERGEANT: Kin Mining (ASX: KIN) reported high-grade near surface drilling results achieved at the Kyte deposit on the company’s Leonora gold project in Western Australia.
Kin Mining said the results were from both inside and outside the planned open pit at Kyte and when combined with the free-digging, low strip ratio nature of the deposit, highlight its potential to be an early source of high-margin mill feed for the project.
The results include:
KY17RC010
6 metres at 8.8 grams per tonne gold from surface, including 4m at 12.3g/t gold with 1m at 19.3g/t gold and 8m at 1.5g/t gold from 17m;
KY17RC015
21m at 2.3g/t gold from 11m, including 8m at 4.4g/t gold, including 3m at 7.4g/t gold;
KY17RC029
15m at 2.6g/t gold from 4m, including 3m at 6.7g/t gold and 1m at 15.2g/t gold; and
KY17RC045
10m at 3.4 g/t gold from 10m, including 2m at 12.2 g/t gold.
The Kyte results follow recent in-fill and extensional drilling results Kin reported from the Mertons Reward and Mertondale 3-4 deposits at the Leonora gold project.
The Kyte deposit is part of the greater Resource at Cardinia which currently stands at 4.86 million tonnes at 1.3g/t gold for 192,000 ounces of gold.
Kin explained it has closed-down the drill spacing by drilling between existing sections with a Reverse Circulation (RC) drill rig, adding that the latest drilling at Kyte was designed to convert Inferred Resources into the higher confidence Indicated Resource category.
The drill rig has now moved to the nearby Rangoon deposit where further infill drilling will continue as part of a Definitive Feasibility Study, which is set to be completed in mid-2017.
“These shallow, high-grade results within the free-digging Kyte open pit have exceeded our expectations,” Kin Mining chief executive Don Harper said in the company’s announcement to the Australian Securities Exchange.
“In light of these results, Kyte may be scheduled to be mined earlier in the mine plan than previously anticipated, leading to earlier and increased revenue generation.”
