Intermin Resources upgrades Menzies gold Resource
THE DRILL SERGEANT: Intermin Resources (ASX: IRC) has announced updated Mineral Resources for the company’s 100 per cent-owned Menzies gold project near Kalgoorlie in Western Australia.
Intermin has completed an extensive drilling project at the project including recent infill, extensional and validation programs totalling 54 Reverse Circulation (RC) holes completed during 2014 and 2015.
All data from the drilling was validated and entered into the geological database for evaluation and Resource compilation.
The updated JORC 2012-compliant Mineral Resources for Menzies now stands at:
2.42 million tonnes at 2.2 grams per tonne gold for 171,310 ounces (>1g/t Au lower grade cut-off).
Intermin explained the updated Resource represents a 130 per cent increase on the Mineral Resources of 75,000 ounces the company reported to the ASX way back in March 2012.
It comprises updated Resources for the Pericles deposit and new Resources for the Yunndaga, Bellenger and Warrior deposits.
“The 2015 exploration and validation programs have delivered excellent results and enabled significant Resource growth at Menzies,” Intermin Resources managing director Jon Price said in the company’s announcement to the Australian Scurities Exchange.
“The work ahead of us now is to grow our high grade underground inventory and the deeper drilling results reported this year provide us with great opportunity to achieve this in 2016.
“Our aim is to develop a three to five year mine plan to support the installation of a simple, small tonnage high-grade processing plant that will become a strategic asset for the region and we look forward to updating you on the PFS that is underway.”
