Gold Road intersects mineralisation on South Yamarna
THE DRILL SERGEANT: Gold Road Resources (ASX: GOR) has tossed more gold balls into the air by announcing the intersection of anomalous bedrock gold mineralisation within the company’s South Yamarna Joint Venture (SYJV) in Western Australia.
The intersections were the result of Reverse circulation (RC) drilling at two prospects, Toppin Hill and Yaffler, withing the SYJV.
The SYJV is owned 50:50 by Gold Road and Sumitomo Metal Mining Oceania.
The Toppin Hill prospect is located in the Breelya‐Toppin Hill Camp, while the Yaffler prospect forms part of the Riviera‐SmokebushCamp, 15 kilometres to the north of Breelya‐Toppin Hill Camp.
Twelve RC holes were drilled at Toppin Hill ti test northern extensions of mineralisation identified in 2014‐2015.
Gold Road said the drilling confirmed the continuation of the mineralised system with five holes returning intersections greater than 1 gram per tonne gold, and two styles of gold mineralisation identified.
The best result from Toppin Hill was:
16SYRC0084
4 metres at 1.24g/t gold from 149m.
A total of 19 RC holes drilled at Yaffler tested below an extensive aircore saprolite gold anomaly for evidence of primary bedrock mineralisation.
Twelve holes intersected gold mineralisation in excess of 0.1g/t gold, with a best result of:
16SYRC0070
4m at 0.61g/t gold from 134m.
“We are pleased with results from both the Toppin Hill and Yaffler programs,” Gold Road Resources executive director Justin Osborne said in the company’s announcement to the Australian Securities Exchange.
“In extending the mineralisation at Toppin Hill to over three kilometres we now have a significant gold system with multiple mineralisation styles to follow‐up with new drilling.
“At Yaffler we were able to identify anomalous gold mineralisation within the important dolerite rocks that have proven to be a good host to high‐ grade gold at the nearby Smokebush Dolerite prospect.
“We are now working on more detailed targeting at both prospects, as well as the Smokebush Dolerite with its new detailed magnetics, and hope to be drilling for higher‐ grade zones in all three prospects in the second half of 2016.”
