Cassini Resources Drills Strike Extensions at Nebo Deposit

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Cassini Resources (ASX: CZI) has received end results from drilling at the Nebo part of the Nebo-Babel deposit as part of an 11-hole infill and extension program.

Nebo-Babel is within the West Musgrave project (WMP), located in Western Australia and part of a Earn-in/Joint Venture Agreement with OZ Minerals (ASX: OZL).

Cassini Resources reported all assays to be now in with results showing more further good news from the project’s Sugar Lode, located in the northern ‘roll-over zone’ at Nebo.

Hole CZC0163A returned a best result of:
7 metres at 1 per cent nickel, 1.45 per cent copper, 0.02 per cent cobalt and 0.93 grams per tonne PGE, including 3m at 1.87 per cent nickel, 1.87 per cent copper, 0.03 per cent cobalt and 1.76g/t PGE.

Cassini highlighted the PGE grades in this intersection as being particularly promising as they sit amongst some of the highest recorded in the deposit to date.

The Sugar Lode was discovered by Cassini in 2014 returning drill intercepts of:

CZC0053
46m at 0.98 per cent nickel, 0.53 per cent copper, 0.03 per cent cobalt and 0.22g/t PGE (not true width); and

CZC0024
7m at 0.98 per cent nickel, 1.13 per cent copper, 0.03 per cent cobalt and 0.30g/t PGE.

Sugar Lode remains open to the west and east and has been categorised by Cassini as a priority for exploration due to the high-grade nature of mineralisation and the minimal amount of drill testing it has undergone to date.

A single hole was drilled to test the continuity of high-grade mineralisation between 100-metre spaced sections in the main Nebo orebody.

CZC0164 has confirmed the high-grade continuity returning:
7m at 1.29 per cent nickel, 0.41 per cent copper, 0.04 per cent cobalt and 0.30g/t PGE.

Cassini expects this result will allow it to prepare a more accurate model of the high-grade core of the deposit.

CZC0165 was drilled outside the existing resource and returned modest results, including:
2m at 0.67 per cent nickel, 0.52 per cent copper, 0.02 per cent cobalt and 0.10g/t PGE.

Cassini explained this hole had been targeting a strong down hole electromagnetic anomaly on the southern margin of the deposit, however the hole path deviated during drilling and has probably missed the target, being the body of the conductor.

Downhole Electromagnetic surveys are planned for all holes later in 2017 which will assist with interpreting results and may define additional targets.

“The program has successfully highlighted the potential for additional resource growth at Nebo warranting a more thorough resource definition and exploration drill program during later study phases,” Cassini Resources said in its ASX announcement.

“With all results from Nebo now received, remodelling of the Nebo Resource will begin.

“The new model is not expected to significantly vary the 2015 resource estimate in terms of contained nickel and copper but it will provide a greater level of confidence around the geological and weathering domains.

“The company has engaged independent consultancy group Golder Associates to undertake this work.

“Results of the Babel program are expected to be returned shortly.

“New mine design and schedules will follow completion of both the Nebo and Babel resource updates.”
