Alliance Gold Hits Healthy Gold Numbers at Weednanna Prospect
THE DRILL SERGEANT: Alliance Resources (ASX: AGS) released results from reverse circulation (RC) drilling underway at Targets 1 and 2 at the Weednanna gold prospect, part of the Wilcherry Project Joint Venture in South Australia between Alliance (51%) and Tyranna Resources (ASX: TYX) (49%).
Alliance Resources explained the RC drilling program was designed to test the strike, dip, and plunge continuity of three possible high-grade gold mineralised shoots referred to as Targets 1, 2 and 3.
Drilling at Targets 1 and 2 returned new gold intercepts greater than five grams per tonne gold, including:

49 metres at 6.3 grams per tonne gold from 45m, including 21m at 10.7g/t gold from 48m;

2m at 61.1g/t gold from 167m;

10m at 6.8g/t gold from 79m, including 3m at 15.5g/t gold from 81m;

7m at 11g/t gold from 82m, including 4m at 17.6g/t gold from 84m;

1m at 20.5g/t gold from 120m; and
17WDRC015
1m at 16.2g/t gold from 99m.
Alliance noted that thirteen out of sixteen holes from Targets 1 and 2 reported intercepts greater than 1g/t gold, which the company has interpreted to confirm high-grade gold mineralisation at Weednanna that supports the Joint Venture’s initial exploration objectives.
“The results are based on one metre samples for gold using 50 grams charge fire assay with AAS finish,” Alliance Resources said in its ASX announcement.
“The high-grade gold results have been validated by acceptable comparison with four metre composite scoop samples collected prior to one metre sampling.”
Alliance has planned a further program of RC drilling to test for extensions to, and infill, high-grade gold intersections at Weednanna Targets 1, 2 and 3 returned from the recent RC drilling program.
This drilling will follow drilling the company has scheduled for May 2017 to test electromagnetic conductors at the Zealous and Telephone Dam prospects.
