Yandal Resources Commences Ironstone Well-Barwidgee Air-Core Drilling
THE DRILL SERGEANT: Yandal Resources (ASX: YRL) is drilling a first phase of air-core (AC) drilling across the Caladan and Irulan target areas within the company’s Ironstone Well-Barwidgee (IWB) gold project in Western Australia.
Yandal Resources considers the Caladan and Irulan target areas to represent early-stage, large-scale exploration targets that it identified via a ground gravity survey in early 2024.
The air-core drilling will include one line across the core of the Caladan target area, testing the core of the Cal-01 anomaly and 800m spaced lines across the northern half of the Irulan target area that will test the IRU-01 anomaly.
“The ground gravity survey completed in early 2024 refined and highlighted the company’s interpretation of the mafic package, highlighting the extent of the dolerite complex and numerous cross-cutting structures,” Yandal Resources said in its ASX announcement.
“The Irulan dolerite complex presents an analogous litho-structural setting to the Jundee deposit, with a large dolerite complex that is bracketed by late volcano-sedimentary units and directly adjacent to the regional Ockerburry shear zone.”
