Tesoro Gold Recommences Drilling at El Zorro Gold Project

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Tesoro Gold (ASX: TSO) has recommenced drilling at the company’s El Zorro gold project in Chile.

Tesoro Gold has two diamond drill rigs spinning at the Ternera gold deposit at El Zorro where the company recently announced an upgraded Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) of 1.1 million ounces at 1.12 grams per tonne gold.

The company indicated the drilling aims to rapidly increase gold resources and upgrade resource classifications at the Ternera deposit, which is open in all directions.

Other work underway includes surface mapping and sampling work at the new Kitsune and Calderillas targets to better define the main gold zones prior to drilling.

Tesoro anticipates additional surface sampling results will be received during July 2022 and drilling to commence on the new targets in early August 2022.

“We are pleased to get drill rigs operating again at El Zorro with a focus on the continued expansion of the Ternera gold deposit, and testing some of the exciting district targets we have recently delineated,” Tesoro Gold managing director Zeff Reeves said in the company’s ASX announcement.

“Our belief is that Ternera has significant potential for continued resource growth, with initial drilling focused on adding additional ounces within the existing optimised pit shell.

“We see significant opportunity, particularly down plunge of the high-grade zones defined in the MRE which the first three holes will target, before looking to expand the deposit north and south where mineralisation remains open.”

Tesoro Resources Extends Ternera With High-Grade Gold Results

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Tesoro Resources (ASX: TSO) released assay results from recent drilling at the company’s El Zorro gold project in Chile.

Tesoro Resources completed an extensional and infill drilling program, consisting 22 diamond drill holes, at the Ternera gold deposit.

The drilling expanded western and southern extensions at the Tenera deposit with multiple gold zones encountered with drilling continuing to thicken and extend shallow gold zones within the deposit.

“This set of results confirms and expands multiple shallow gold zones on the edges and within the Ternea gold deposit,” Tesoro Resources managing director Zeff Reeves said in the company’s ASX announcement.

“These near surface, mineralised zones have the potential to significantly enhance the existing Ternera Mineral Resource, with continuous gold mineralisation having now been proven from surface to over 500 metres depth, up to 550 metres wide and over 1.3 kilometres long.

“Ternera is shaping up as a significant deposit with multiple gold zones, scale, continuity all coming together and the more we drill, the more we define.

“With the deposit open in all directions there is significant potential to expand the Mineral Resource at Ternera with continued drilling.”

Tesoro Resources Hits Multiple Gold Intercepts at Ternera East

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Tesoro Resources (ASX: TSO) reported assay results from drilling at the Ternera gold deposit and the Ternera East discovery, located at the company’s El Zorro gold project in Chile.

Tesoro Resources is aiming to expand the existing Ternera Mineral Resource of 660,000 ounces of gold it reported in July 2021.

Tesoro received assays for eight diamond drill holes completed as part of the current extensional and infill drilling program at El Zorro as well as results for four holes drilled at the Ternera East discovery.

All reported holes intercepted multiple zones of gold mineralisation, confirming the potential of additional gold resources to be added that are located well outside of the existing Mineral Resource Estimate model.

“The results from Ternera East are very encouraging as we can now link zones of previously drilled gold mineralisation both up and down dip as well as along strike, confirming the presence of an extensive gold zone,” Tesoro Resources managing director Zeff Reeves said in the company’s ASX announcement.

“This area is important to us as any gold resources defined to the east of the main Ternera deposit have the potential to materially affect the economics of open pit mining at Ternera.

“We’ve obviously got plenty of drilling to do to delineate this area adequately, but these early results are very promising.”

Drilling is ongoing at El Zorro, focussing on infill and extensional areas at Tenera, along with drilling at additional targets Ternera East, Drone Hill and Toro Blanco.

Tesoro is currently awaiting results from 42 diamond drill holes previously completed as part of this program and will report these results as they become available.
