Tanga Resources Commences Hagenhof Drilling in Namibia

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Tanga Resources (ASX: TRL) announced drillinhg has commenced at the company’s Hagenhof copper project in Namibia.

Tanga Resources explained the program has been updated to now consist of approximately 3,000 metres of diamond and Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling to test copper mineralisation at several targets at Hagenhof.

The company had to revise its previously announced RC drill program due to an unexpected delay in the arrival of an RC rig from South Africa, resulting in the drilling contractor providing a track mounted diamond drill rig, at no additional cost to the company, until the RC drill rig arrives, at which time the program will revert back to RC drilling.

“Diamond drilling has commenced at the Main Gossan targeting a prominent ground magnetic anomaly and will test the strike, plunge and grade of the historically reported copper mineralisation,” Tanga Resources said in its ASX announcement.

“It is expected that RC drilling will then test the prominent magnetic anomaly coinciding with a large interpreted structural domal feature at Liv’s Hill, before going on to test copper mineralisation at Jette’s Hill, Copper Cap and P5; all of which have never previously been drilled.”

Tanga Resources Achieves High-Grade Namibian Copper Results

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Tanga Resources (ASX: TRL) identified a new copper zone at the company’s Hagenhof copper project in Namibia.

Tanga Resources’ ongoing exploration has identified the new copper zone located just five kilometres south of the Main Gossan.

Surface sample results from outcropping quartz-gossan breccia at the new target, named P5, have returned up to 5.7 per cent copper and anomalous cobalt.

Tanga claimed this as the latest in a series of encouraging exploration results from Hagenhof, where several copper targets have recently been identified over eight kilometres of ‘Katangan-style’ stratabound copper horizon.

“This new copper target at P5 further highlights the potential for a new copper discovery to be made at Hagenhof,” Tanga Resources CEO Matthew Bowles said in the compahny’s announcement to the Australian Securities Exchange.

“We believe Namibia’s Damara Belt remains underexplored, which is why we have focused our efforts on securing a large land holding on the belt.

“We are excited to be starting the drilling program at Hagenhof in the coming weeks.

“This drilling will test the historical copper results reported at Main Gossan and several new targets we have identified at Jette’s Hill, Copper Cap, Liv’s Hill and now P5.”

Having recently received the Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) from the Ministry of Environment and Tourism, the Hagenhof copper project is now fully permitted.

Tanga expects drilling at Hagenhof to start soon, commencing at the Main Gossan and then following up on the targets at Liv’s Hill, Jette’s Hill, Copper Cap and P5.

A ground magnetic survey recently completed over specific areas of Hagenhof highlighted a prominent positive magnetic anomaly at Main Gossan and a larger, prominent circular magnetic anomaly, coinciding with a large interpreted structural dome feature at Liv’s Hill.

This data will assist in refining targets for the upcoming drilling.

Tanga Resources Permitted for Hagenhof Drilling

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Tanga Resources (ASX: TRL) announced it has received the Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) for the company’s 100 per cent-owned Hagenhof copper project in Namibia.

Tanga Resources said it now has all approvals required for its maiden RC drilling program at Hagenhof, which is expected to commence in the coming weeks.

The plus-2,000 metre drill program will initially focus on the Main Gossan to test the grade and tenor of the of historical copper mineralisation reported from previous diamond drilling.

Subsequently the program will test additional targets the company recently identified over an eight-kilometre copper bearing stratigraphic horizon which trends east of Main Gossan.

The company indicated a recently completed ground magnetic survey over Main Gossan, Liv’s Hill and Copper Cap will assist in refining targets for the planned drilling program.

“With the Environmental Clearance Certificate secured we are now fully permitted to commence our maiden drill program at Hagenhof,” Tanga Resources CEO Matthew Bowles said in the company’s announcement to the Australian Securities Exchange.

“This program will initially follow up on the historical Phelps Dodge drilling to confirm the grade and tenor of the significant copper mineralisation previously reported at the Main Gossan, before going on to test several additional targets which host extensive stratabound copper and gold mineralisation.

“We are really encouraged by the exploration results that we have received to date and believe this drilling program is the next step in unlocking the significant copper potential we are seeing at Hagenhof.”

Tanga Resources Hits Impressive Scores with Hagenhof Copper Samples

THE BOURSE WHISPERER: Tanga Resources (ASX: TRL) has identified new copper and copper-gold targets at the company’s Hagenhof project in Namibia.

Tanga Resources has currently mapped over eight kilometres of strike at Hagenhof in a Katangan-style metallogenic setting that remains open to the east.

At Liv’s Hill, Tanga has mapped and sampled outcropping stratabound copper mineralisation over 450 metres of strike.

Average surface copper grades from 16 samples is 0.62 per cent copper, with a peak of 5.75 per cent copper.

Anomalous cobalt values of up to 0.19 per cent were reported in several rock chip samples.

Tanga said there is no evidence of any previous work being carried out at Liv’s Hill.

Copper Cap is located one kilometre to the north of Liv’s Hill.

Three samples returned gold values ranging from 0.154 grams per tonne gold to a peak value of 1.1g/t gold and are associated with high barium values, very high copper values (up to 0.6 per cent copper) and high vanadium levels (up to 0.14 per cent).

Additional rock chip samples showed showed visual copper mineralisation with assay results still pending.

Initial sampling from Jette’s Hill, located three kilometres west of Liv’s Hill, returned copper values of over two per cent copper and anomalous gold of over 0.5g/t gold from surface rock chip samples in secondary copper mineralised (chrysocollamalachite) gossanous dolomite and micaceous schist.

“We have now defined a stratigraphic mineralised horizon extending over eight kilometres from the original Main Gossan, eastwards through several new targets at Jette’s Hill, Copper Cap and Livs Hill, which hosts extensive stratabound copper and gold mineralisation,” Tanga Resources CEO Matthew Bowles said in the company’s announcement to the Australian Securities Exchange.

“We are excited by this latest round of results that have identified additional, new copper/gold targets and further highlights the significant potential at Hagenhof.

“Our Technical Director, John Stockley, has worked extensively in the Zambian Copper Belt and is impressed with the overall similarities to the Katangan-style copper mineralisation.

“We look forward to securing the final Environmental Clearance Certificate, which will permit us to commence our maiden drill program, starting at the Main Gossan, where historical drilling has already reported intersecting copper mineralisation.”
