Nexus Minerals Drills Encouraging Wallbrook Gold Results

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Nexus Minerals (ASX: NXM) can expect to be fielding a raft of enquiries at the RIU Explorers Conference next week after releasing exploration news from the company’s Wallbrook gold project near Kalgoorlie in Western Australia.

Nexus Minerals announced assay results from extensional reverse circulation (RC) drill programs at the Crusader-Templar and Branches prospects as well as results received from regional aircore drilling, at the MC4.1 and MC3.1 prospects.

The Branches RC drill program extended the mineralised corridor to over one kilometre in strike length (increased from 600 metres) as extensional drill holes intercepted mineralisation at shallow depths above 150m.

Nexus considers the positive drill results on the most northern (4m at 2.85g/t gold within 10m at 1.33g/t gold) and most southern drill lines (12m at 1.84g/t gold within 17m at 1.39g/t gold), in areas of no previous exploration, support the ongoing potential of mineralised corridor MC1, which remains open in all directions.

First pass aircore drill testing of Target MC4.1 intersected mineralised quartz-goethite alteration and hematite altered quartz porphyry in a number of the holes drilled.

Nexus indicated this to be the same mineralisation style as seen at the Crusader-Templar and Branches prospects.

“The Crusader-Templar and Branches prospects extensional RC drill program has yielded great results that have added to both of the prospects respective drill footprints,” Nexus Minerals managing director Andy Tudor said in the company’s ASX announcement.

“We continue to be on track for the Crusader-Templar Mineral Resource Estimate to be completed by the end of the March quarter.

“The aircore drill program testing of regional target MC4.1 also provided some great results and is now ready for RC drill testing.”

Nexus Minerals Diamond Drilling Unlocks Crusader-Templar Geology Model

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Nexus Minerals (ASX: NXM) announced assay results from diamond drilling completed at the Crusader – Templar prospect, within the company’s Wallbrook gold project in Western Australia.

Nexus Minerals received assay results from 21 diamond drill holes that have encountered multiple zones of mineralised, altered, and silicified quartz porphyry intersected along 1.6 kilometres of strike.

The company said gold mineralisation was intersected in deep ‘feeder’ structures and in the limbs and fold closures of shallow quartz porphyry units.

Results included:

DDH#15
1.5 metres at 8.3 grams per tonne gold (within 3.5m at 3.96g/t gold from 218m);

DDH#92
3m at 4.18g/t gold (within 5.8m at 2.36g/t gold from 293.6m); and

DDH#368
3m at 4.07g/t gold (within 8.4m at 1.84g/t gold from 341.6m).

“The information gained from this diamond drill program has provided a step change in our geological understanding and interpretation of this very large mineralised system,” Nexus Minerals managing director Andy Tudor said in the company’s ASX announcement.

“The diamond drill holes have intersected multiple zones of gold mineralisation within the same mineralised, altered, and silicified quartz porphyry rock unit, intersected in our previous shallow RC drill program.

“The results have enabled Nexus to create a geological model which will allow for more targeted future drill program planning.”

Nexus Minerals Intersects Broad and High-Grade Wallbrook Mineralisation

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Nexus Minerals (ASX: NXM) received the first assay results after commencement of the company’s 2021 exploration drilling activities at the Wallbrook Project in Western Australia.

Nexus Minerals explained the drilling activity follows high-grade assay results received across multiple prospects at the Wallbrook Project in 2020.

A two-hole, diamond drilling program has recently been completed at the Crusader Prospect to test beneath the broad high-grade mineralised zone intersected in the 2020 RC drill program.

The first diamond hole drilled at Crusader intersects multiple mineralised zones including:

DDH21-1
3 metres at 11.54 grams per tonne gold (within 9m at 4.49g/t gold) from 159m;
4m at 2.59g/t gold (within 7m at 1.63g/t gold) from 138m; and
2.7m at 5.7g/t gold from 53.4m.

DDH21-1 was drilled to test for depth extension to Nexus 2020 RC holes that returned broad high-grade mineralisation, returning results of:

6m at 6.74g/t gold (within 12m at 3.61g/t gold from 138m to EOH);
5m at 5.01g/t gold (within 11m at 3.44g/t gold from 141m); and
4m at 7.17g/t gold (within 15m at 2.11g/t gold from 135m to EOH).

“This is a great result to start our 2021 drill programs at Crusader,” Nexus Minerals managing director Andy Tudor said in the company’s ASX announcement.

“The diamond drilling has given us a clearer understanding of the mineralisation style, and we now eagerly await the results from DDH21-2 that was drilled beneath DDH21- 1 to a depth of 805 metres.

“Previous Crusader prospect RC drilling intersected broad and high-grade gold intercepts showing continuity of mineralisation over greater than 700m strike, which remains open in all directions, and importantly at depth.

“The Crusader-Templar mineralised system now extends over some 1,600 metres of strike – and is rapidly growing into an exciting new mineralised corridor.”

Nexus Minerals Completes Pinnacles Scoping Study

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Nexus Minerals (ASX: NXM) announced positive results from an Independent Scoping Study on the company’s Pinnacles JV gold project in Western Australia.

Nexus Minerals said the independent study, conducted by mining consultants Coverdale, provides the ability for the project to advance rapidly to the commencement of a Feasibility Study (FS).

The Scoping Study focussed on the Mineral Resource currently defined within the Pinnacles JV resource area, and has confirmed Nexus’ belief in the prospectivity of the Pinnacles JV project.

The company said the study results were positive and justify Nexus committing to the next stage of exploration and development by progressing to a Feasibility Study this year.

The Feasibility Study will incorporate additional resource definition drilling, geotechnical drilling, environmental studies and metallurgical test work along with other key assessments and permitting.

“I am very pleased to have completed this Scoping Study,” Nexus Minerals managing director Andy Tudor said in the company’s announcement to the Australian Securities Exchange.

“It has identified a clear pathway to seek to monetise the mineral resource with the company’s aim being to develop an open cut, followed by an underground mining operation.

“The mineral resource is robust in terms of both tonnes and particularly grade.

“These Scoping Study results, in conjunction with the current strong Australian gold price, further enhance the strength of the Pinnacle’s project, with the advantage of a pre-existing ore sales agreement with Saracen, with any ore mined to be processed through Saracen’s Carosue Dam Operation.”

Nexus Minerals’ tenement package at the Pinnacles gold project is largely underexplored.

It commences less than five kilometres to the south of, and along strike from, Saracen Mineral Holdings (ASX: SAR) Carosue Dam mining operations, and current operating Karari underground gold mine.

Nexus has a substantial land package of what in considers highly prospective geological terrane within a major regional structural corridor and is exploring for gold deposits.

The company consolidated the Wallbrook gold project by merging existing Nexus tenements with others acquired from both Saracen Mineral Holdings and Newmont Exploration, where it intends to further advance its gold exploration efforts.
