Kalium Lakes has Mining Tenure Granted

THE BOURSE WHISPERER: Kalium Lakes (ASX: KLL) has had all of the required Mining Tenure for the company’s 100 per cent-owned Beyondie sulphate of potash project granted by the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DMIRS).

Kalium Lakes’ tenure includes two Mining Leases, 15 Miscellaneous Licences and a gas pipeline licence, in addition to 15 granted Exploration Licences.

The company explained all Mining Tenure has been granted with the consent of the Determined Native Title holders, the Gingirana People and the Birriliburu People, in accordance with the signed Mining Land Access Agreements.

All of the Exploration Licences have also been granted in accordance with the Land Access and Mineral Exploration Agreements.

“The grant of all of our Mining Tenure requirements allows the full value chain to be accomplished including, extraction of the brine, evaporation to form salts, SOP purification and haulage to the Australian agricultural industry or an export port,” Kalium Lakes managing director Brett Hazelden said in the company’s announcement to the Australian Securities Exchange.

“Kalium Lakes is the only company to have all the tenure requirements granted to develop what we expect will be the first commercial SOP production facility in Australia.

“We would like to thank the Gingirana People and the Birriliburu People traditional owners for their consent and ongoing support of the project.”

Kalium Lakes Completes Beyondie BFS Drilling Campaign

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Kalium Lakes (ASX: KLL) has completed Bankable Feasibility Study (BFS) sonic monitoring bore installation and air-core geological programs at the company’s Beyondie sulphate of potash project (BSOPP) in Western Australia.

Kalium Lakes conducted some 8,504 metres of drilling throughout the program, which it said had continued to confirm the PFS Resource and Reserve Assumptions, reaffirming the project’s high-grade potassium results while indicating new aquifer targets.

The drilling returned potassium results up to 11,100 milligrams per litre (mg/L) – equivalent to a sulphate of potash (SOP) grade of 24,736mg/L.

The company has test pumping activities ongoing, with results being utilised to update the BFS numerical hydrogeological modelling of the project’s Ten Mile and Sunshine Stage 1 production areas.

Kalium Lakes explained the program is aimed at achieving future Measured Resources and Proved Reserves to support project financing requirements.

“The program has continued to confirm the Pre-Feasibility Study Resource model within our initial Stage 1 Mining Lease Areas,” Kalium Lakes managing director Brett Hazelden said in the company’s announcement to the Australian Securities Exchange.

“We envisage these results will enable an upgrade of the deposit to include a future Measured Resource and Proved Reserve, which in turn will support the Bankable Feasibility Study and project financing.

“The current assumed Stage 1 Area has a mine life of 23 years at 75,000 tonnes per annum SOP, when utilising our existing Probable Reserve, which has enabled Kalium Lakes to have very detailed discussions with both domestic and international offtake parties and financial institutions.”

Kalium Lakes Posts Positive Purification Plant Outcomes

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Kalium Lakes (ASX: KLL) informed the market of progress it is making regarding testwork optimisation for the Purification Plant at the company’s 100 per cent-owned Beyondie sulphate of potash project (SOP) in Western Australia.

Kalium Lakes said the recent work utilised harvested salts from pilot evaporation ponds at the Beyondie project, which were subjected to duplicated laboratory trials at both K-UTEC in Germany and Saskatchawan Research Council (SRC) in Canada.

The company said the testwork had continued to optimise process flow sheet design while building on previous work completed in the Prefeasibility Study.

Optimisation works for batch recovery trials within the processing plant utilising more than one tonne of harvested salts from the pilot evaporation ponds achieved individual recoveries of between 90 per cent to 98 per cent.

Kalium Lakes asserted that the overall SOP recoveries achieved have the potential to increase to more than 80 per cent, including evaporation pond losses associated with both leakage and recovery.

Sulphate of potash product quality has been enhanced to a premium 51 to 52 per cent potassium oxide (K2O) product with minimal chloride (less than five per cent) and insoluble material

The company said there is optimisation and equipment vendor testwork ongoing utilising eight tonnes of recently harvested salts from the pilot evaporation ponds.

Final product specifications aim to produce a Kalium Lakes Premium SOP, Granular SOP and horticulture grade Soluble SOP suite of products.

“Kalium Lakes is continuing to reduce process risk by duplicating work in both Germany and Canada so as to independently verify and optimise the repeatability of the proposed flowsheet,” Kalium Lakes managing director Brett Hazelden said in the company’s announcement to the Australian Securities Exchange.

“Utilising salts from our large-scale pilot evaporation ponds has allowed us to produce representative mixed potassium salt samples which have then been utilised to optimise the process.

“The results to date have been considerably better than our Pre-Feasibility assumptions and we have continued to improve the final SOP product quality.

“We are now moving to the final phase of testing and optimisation with a further eight tonnes of material harvested and sent to the two international facilities.

“This material will provide bulk samples for equipment vendor testing to enable process guarantees to be put in place, as well as producing marketing samples for potential offtake customers.”
