Jindalee Resources Achieves Positive Results from McDermitt Metallurgical Testwork

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Jindalee Resources (ASX: JRL) has received positive results from initial alkali salt roast testwork on ore from the company’s 100 per cent-owned McDermitt lithium project in Oregon, USA.

Jindalee Resources reported lithium phosphate (Li3PO4) assaying 58,880 ppm (5.89%) lithium has been produced from roasting and sequential leaching of a composite sample of McDermitt ore assaying 1,460 ppm lithium.

The company declared the recent testwork confirmed alkali salt roasting of McDermitt ore can produce lithium phosphate, providing an alternative processing route for the project, as well as a commercially important lithium chemical product.

“The positive results from use of recycled residue salts from initial roasting and the implications for reduced reagent usage are also very encouraging,” Jindalee Resources said in its ASX announcement.

“Jindalee continues to investigate opportunities to optimise the flowsheet for McDermitt, ahead of more detailed studies later this year.”

Jindalee Resources Increases Indicated Resource at McDermitt Lithium Project

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Jindalee Resources (ASX: JRL) reported an updated Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) at the company’s 100 per cent-owned McDermitt lithium project in the United States.

Jindalee Resources said the updated was estimated following drilling in December 2021 of six RC and six diamond holes that were drilled with the aim of increasing confidence in the mineral resource to allow for conversion of Inferred Mineral Resource to Indicated.

The company declared this drilling encountered noteworthy widths of lithium mineralisation in every drill hole completed to date.

The updated estimate has produced a combined Indicated and Inferred Mineral Resource of 1.82 billion tonnes at 1,370ppm lithium for total of 13.3 million tonnes lithium carbonate equivalent (LCE) at 1,000ppm cut-off grade.

“The 2022 combined Indicated and Inferred Mineral Resource update represents an overall increase (from 2021) in tonnage of 25 per cent, with a three per cent increase in grade for a 28 per cent increase in contained lithium,” Jindalee Resources said in the company’s ASX announcement.

“More importantly, the Indicated Mineral Resource increased by over 165 per cent by tonnage and two per cent in grade for an overall 170 per cent increase in contained metal at this higher confidence classification.”

Jindalee Resources Encounters Big McDermitt Lithium Hits

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Jindalee Resources (ASX: JRL) reported assay results from six diamond core drillholes completed late in 2021 at the company’s 100 per cent-owned McDermitt lithium project in the USA.

Jindalee Resources claimed the results include some of the thickest intercepts of lithium mineralisation it has reported at the project to date.

The drilling encounters multiple zones of mineralisation in each hole drilled with some highlights being:

MDD014
15 metres at 1889ppm lithium from 10m
9m at 1241ppm lithium from 29.5m
38m at 1751ppm lithium from 43m, including 3m at 3805ppm lithium

MDD015
21m at 1952ppm lithium from 24m, including 3m at 3065ppm lithium
10.5m at 1281ppm lithium from 54m
9m at 1435ppm lithium from 79.5m

“The drilling confirms significant mineralisation near surface, over large thicknesses and with excellent grade continuity,” Jindalee Resources said in its ASX announcement.

“Importantly, these diamond drill holes have encountered several higher-grade zones (>3000ppm lithium) within the Mineral Resource, reinforcing the potential scalability of the project.”

Jindalee indicated it is currently planning for its next phase of drilling to be carried out in 2022 with all drill permits in hand.

The remainder of the drilling will focus on investigating the untested mineral potential across the project’s western tenure and look for opportunities for higher grade material.
