Indiana Resources Confirms Central Gawler High-Grade Ionic Clay Rare Earths

THE DRILL SERGEANT: The gang from Indiana Resources (ASX: IDA) was circulating heavily on Day Two at Diggers & Dealers after announcing it has confirmed Rare Earth Elements (REE) mineralisation within the company’s 100 per cent-owned Central Gawler project in South Australia.

Indiana Resources recently completed a review of previous drilling results within its Central Gawler project database that has highlighted the prospectivity for clay hosted ionic type REE in the regolith.

An initial batch of sample pulps from six holes drilled in 2021 were submitted for the full suite of light and heavy rare earth elements (total REE) returning results including values up to 15,486ppm (1.55%) total rare earth oxide (TREO).

“The confirmation of the high TREO values including the high value magnet metals is a promising result and shows there has been enrichment of these elements within the weathered clay profile,’” Indiana Resources technical director Felicity Repacholi-Muir said in the company’s ASX announcement.

“We will now re-assay the balance of our extensive sample pulp inventory and work to enhance the rare earth potential in our large project area Indiana has continued to demonstrate the underlying value of the Central Gawler project with significant gold and REE mineralisation discovered via our aggressive and systematic approach to exploration.

“We look forward to sharing exciting further results in due course.”

Indiana Resources Encounters More Minos Gold Zones

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Indiana Resources (ASX: IDA) reported further gold hits from drilling completed at the Minos prospect within the company’s 100 per cent-owned Central Gawler Craton gold project in South Australia.

Indiana Resources completed fifteen drillholes at Minos in December, completing a program designed to infill the existing drill hole coverage and provide further geological information for inclusion in a proposed resource estimate for Minos.

Assays returned for the final 10 holes included:

36 metres at 2.63 grams per tonne gold from 124m, including 1m at 12.6g/t gold and 1m at 12.5g/t gold;

20m at 2.34g/t gold from 116m, including 1m at 17.7g/t gold;

2m at 11.3g/t gold from 190m;

11m at 1.76g/t gold from 135m;

17m at 1.08g/t gold from 25m; and

17m at 1.05g/t gold from 59m.

“The Minos prospect continues to deliver strong intersections of significant, wide gold mineralisation,” Indiana Resources technical director Felicity Repacholi-Muir said in the company’s ASX announcement.

“These latest results…highlight the clear potential to define additional mineralisation within the north-western extent of the Minos orebody.

“These infill drilling programs are providing Indiana with further confidence of the gold mineralisation within the Lake Labyrinth Shear Zone, and we will be back on the ground in April, continuing to evaluate the continuity and tenor of gold mineralisation at Minos.”

Indiana explained it has assay results outstanding from a calcrete sampling program completed in December across the Partridge, Earea Dam and Ealbara prospects.

Results from this program are expected to identify further gold anomalies, mineralised trends and assist with drillhole targeting.

Indiana had planned to restart drilling at Minos in January; however, this has been delayed due to high rainfall in central South Australia that damaged major roads and railway lines and prevented access to the site.

Drilling is now expected to resume in April 2022, with the proposed program designed to infill the existing drill hole coverage in the south-eastern portion of the orebody.

Indiana Resources Inks Native Title Agreement for Gawler Ranges

THE BOURSE WHISPERER: Indiana Resources (ASX: IDA) has negotiated a Native Title Mining Agreement (NTMA) with the Gawler Ranges Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC that has been registered by the Department for Energy and Mining, South Australia.

Indiana Resources said the NTMA with the Gawler Ranges People, represented by the Gawler Ranges Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC, covers 12 Exploration Licences located in the southern portion of the company’s Gawler Craton portfolio which hosts the prospective Archaean greenstones of the Harris Greenstone Domain.

The area hosts several established targets including Double Dutch, Earea Dam, Moolkra, Yerda and Renton.

Indiana has a review underway to refine and prioritise these targets ahead of the commencement of exploration following the receipt of all necessary approvals.

“This NTMA is a major step towards unlocking the southern corridor of our Gawler Craton portfolio, and we look forward to working with the Gawler Ranges People to advance our plans,” Indiana Resources technical director Felicity Repacholi-Muir said in the company’s ASX announcement.

“With several encouraging targets already identified across this highly prospective ground we are eager to commence work on the ground as quickly as possible.”

Felicity Repocholi-Muir Indiana Resource (ASX: IDA) February 2022

Indiana Resources (ASX: IDA) technical director Felicity Repacholi-Muir wasted little time after returning home from the 2022 RIU Explorers Conference to zoom back into The Resources Roadhouse to report on drilling results achieved at the company’s Minos gold project on the Gawler Craton of South Australia.
