Golden Rim Extends Gold Lodes at Kouri Project

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Golden Rim Resources (ASX: GMR) reported the latest drilling results from a major exploration campaign underway at the company’s Kouri gold project in Burkina Faso.

Mineral Resource extensional drilling on the Kogodou prospect has confirmed eastern strike extensions up to 350 metres for the multiple gold lodes that comprise the project’s 1.4 million ounce Mineral Resource.

Best of the latest gold intercepts include:

BADH014
15 metres at 1.2 grams per tonne gold from 7m, including 1m at 11.6g/t gold and a 1m artisanal mining cavity; and

GDH004
8m at 2.2g/t gold from 106m, including 1m at 14.3g/t gold.

Golden Rim has assays pending for drill holes located up to 700m east of the Mineral Resource where it indicated it has observed strong, multiple zones of quartz – pyrite mineralisation, which is generally associated with gold at Kouri.

The company believes this suggests potential for further extensions to the gold lodes exists, adding that the results continue to confirm the potential for a major strike extension to the east of the Mineral Resource and into the Kogodou prospect where high-grade gold results have been obtained in rock chip sampling over multiple structures for approximately four kilometres.

Drilling is ongoing at the Kogodou prospect with a Mineral Resource update scheduled for the June 2020 quarter.

“At present, we are systematically stepping out to the east of the existing 1.4 million ounce Mineral Resource at Kouri, along a major cross-structure and completing fences of drill holes at 100 metre intervals,” Golden Rim Resources managing director Craig Mackay said in the company’s announcement to the Australian Securities Exchange.

“To date, we have drilled holes over 700 metres to the east of the Mineral Resource.

“The results so far have been impressive and we still have a further three kilometres along this cross-structure to explore.

“There are also an additional three cross-structures that we have identified to the east of the Mineral Resource that have returned high-grade gold in rock chip samples and which are yet to be drilled.

“We believe the potential to considerably expand the Mineral Resource at Kouri is huge.”

New infill drilling has also been carried out in the sparsely drilled northeast portion of the Mineral Resource that has confirmed the continuity of the gold lodes in this area.

Healthy intercepts have been encountered, including:

BADH015
6m at 1.9g/t gold from 0m, including 1m at 10.1g/t gold and 7m at 1.7g/t gold from 45m.

Elsewhere, regional drilling at Diabatou East, 9km northeast of the Mineral Resource, encountered a gold intercept of:

MRC025
2m at 5.7g/t gold from 114m.

This was achieved in the first drilling to test a 1.7km long IP chargeability anomaly highlighting the potential for the discovery of further mineralisation.

Golden Rim Identifies Multiple High-Grade Gold Structures

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Golden Rim Resources (ASX: GMR) results for further rock chip samples and from geophysical data it collected as part of an ongoing exploration campaign at the company’s Kouri gold project in Burkina Faso.

Golden Rim Resources obtained assays for the additional 289 rock chip samples collected from the Margou and Gouéli permits that demonstrated high-grade gold results continue to cluster at the Kogodou prospect, which extends directly east of the project’s current 1.4 million ounce gold Mineral Resource for over 3.8 kilometres.

The best new results at the Kogodou Prospect include:

32.3 grams per tonne gold;
29.2g/t gold;
22.4g/t gold;
14.5g/t gold; and
11.7g/t gold.

“Preliminary ground magnetic data from the recently completed geophysical survey suggests the stronger gold mineralisation at the Kogodou prospect may be associated with a series of four major east-west-trending cross-structures,” Golden Rim Resources said in its ASX announcement.

“Results continue to confirm the potential for a major strike extension to the Mineral Resource to the east and the exceptional prospectivity of the previously unexplored Margou and Gouéli permits.”

Golden Rim reported the program also returned high-grade rock chip samples in two new areas located to the northeast of the Mineral Resource.

The first area is located approximately 12.5km from the Mineral Resource and returned a peak assay of 13g/t gold.

This zone consists of two parallel lines, sitting about 50m apart, of artisanal workings that both extend for 250m.

The second new zone is located approximately 18km northeast of the Mineral Resource and returned a peak assay of 24.4g/t gold.

This area has not been covered by the company’s recent ground geophysical survey.

“Although high-grade gold in rock chip samples have been obtained throughout the Kogodou prospect, most of the area has received no geochemical testing due to the sparsity of outcropping rocks,” Golden Rim explaned.

“To better define target areas for follow-up RC drilling a program of auger drilling, on a 200 metres by 50 metres pattern, is currently underway at the Kogodou prospect.”

Golden Rim Resources Identifies 1.6km Gold Anomaly at Kouri

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Golden Rim Resources (ASX: GMR) copleted an Induced Polarisation (IP) survey at the company’s Kouri gold project in Burkina Faso.

Golden Rim reported that the IP survey has detected a large chargeability-high anomaly associated with the high-grade gold mineralisation at the Diabatou prospect.

The company has, to date, completed 180 line kilometres of the planned 500 line km survey, from which initial data has outlined a strong, 1.6-kilometres long, IP chargeability-high anomaly.

“It is believed the IP anomaly is related to the pyrite mineralisation (up to 5%) that is associated with the high-grade gold mineralisation,” Golden Rim Resources said in its ASX announcement.

Previous drilling intersections within the IP anomaly at Diabatou include:

MRC008
7m at 121.2 grams per tonne gold from 41m, including 1m at 783.8g/t gold; and

MRC014
4m at 23.3g/t gold from 67m, including 1m at 65.7g/t gold.

Golden Rim commenced a 9,200m RC drilling and 4,000m diamond drilling program at Kouri in October.

A diamond drilling rig is currently on the third hole (MDH003) at the Diabatou prospect that has a planned depth of 150m to test the new IP anomaly and is located 60m along the interpreted southwest strike extent of the high-grade gold mineralisation intersected in previous RC drill hole MRC008.

A second RC rig will be operating for the next few weeks to test the southern portion of the IP anomaly at Diabatou and then the northeast strike extent of the 1.4 million ounce Mineral Resource in the new Goueli Permit.
