Golden Mile Resources Achieves Nickel Upgrading of Quicksilver Mineralisation

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Golden Mile Resources (ASX: G88) followed its appearance at The Resources Roadhouse Steak Sandwich Showdown in Kalgoorlie by announcing results of Stage 3 Metallurgical testwork at the company’s 100 per cent-owned Quicksilver nickel-cobalt deposit in Western Australia.

Golden Mile Resources conducted the Stage 3 metallurgical testwork on the Quicksilver project to test front end physical separation processes aimed at upgrading the nickel mineralisation to support the development of a stand-alone process flowsheet for the project.

The testing produced highlights that included:

• Nickel upgrades of 111 per cent to 226 per cent achieved from low energy scrubbing and screening tests;

• Assays of mica concentrate at 2 to 3 per cent nickel demonstrate potential for further concentration;

• Magnetic concentrate has been generated from all composite samples supporting the case for pursuing a specialised iron, chromium and nickel containing product; and

• Elevated grades of cobalt often associated with manganese exist within the Quicksilver mineralisation and offer potential for generation of a cobalt rich nickel concentrate.

“These results are a huge verification of the previous results and have demonstrated the value of obtaining the highest quality of samples for this testwork,” Golden Mile Resources managing director Damon Dormer said in the company’s ASX announcement.

“The scrubbing and screening results are extremely encouraging with the level of upgrading achieved and could result in a reduction to the size and associated costs of a beneficiation circuit.

“The high-grade nickel association with the mica has been a great discovery which opens up further processing opportunities with isolating this product.

“We will conduct further testwork to better understand why the nickel is associated with the mica without impacting our overall project timelines.”

Golden Mile Resources Commences Drilling at Quicksilver Nickel-Cobalt Project

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Golden Mile Resources (ASX: G88) has kicked off an eight hole diamond drill program at the company’s Quicksilver nickel-cobalt project in Western Australia.

Golden Mile Resources explained the drilling is part of Stage 3 metallurgical test work being undertaken to further de-risk the proposed flowsheet and provide confidence to proceed to a Scoping Study.

A secondary purpose of Stage 3 metallurgical test work is to carry out further tests on the viability of adding further value by downstream processing the nickel and cobalt as well as assessing the potential for REE by-products.

Stage 2 metallurgical test work completed last year had developed the company’s understanding of the saprolitic mineralisation at Quicksilver.

Golden Mile is continuing to develop the metallurgical flowsheet and is gaining more confidence in the process with results to date encouraging the continuation of this work.

“The company will also incorporate additional studies to explore downstream options to produce secondary nickel products suitable for electric vehicle (EV) batteries as well as high value industrial products which may add further value but is not required for the current business model,” Golden Mile Resources said in its ASX announcement.

Golden Mile Resources RC Drilling at Yarrambee Copper-Zinc-Nickel Project

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Golden Mile Resources (ASX: G88) has a reverse circulation (RC) drill program underway at the company’s Yarrambee copper-zinc-nickel project in the Murchison Region of Western Australia.

A helicopter-borne EM (HEM) survey, followed by a ground-based moving loop EM (MLEM) survey that focussed on a cluster of anomalies adjacent to the Narndee VMS prospect identified a high conductance anomaly now known as the Tank target.

“We are pleased to start this high impact drilling program which kicked off over the weekend at Chi and the newly identified and highly conductive ‘Tank’ anomaly, and then extends to other high priority targets identified from our airborne and ground electromagnetic surveys,” Golden Mile Resources managing director James Merrillees said in the company’s ASX announcement.

“The RC program is targeting bedrock conductors in an area where historical exploration identified widespread alteration and base metals mineralisation.

“These proximal indicators coupled with our geophysical surveys have defined high potential targets for this program which is expected to take about two weeks to complete.

“The team in the field are routinely checking samples with a portable XRF analyser to assist in identifying mineralisation and prioritising samples for laboratory analysis.”

Golden Mile Resources Meets Gateway Mining Gidgee Farm-in Conditions

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Golden Mile Resources (ASX: G88) announced a clear path for exploration activities to commence at the Gidgee project in the North-Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia.

Golden Mile Resources has been granted approvals providing clear access to further exploration at the Gidgee project.

The approvals mean the company has now met the conditions required to activate the operative provisions of the Gidgee Farm-in Agreement with Gateway Mining (ASX: GML), giving Gateway the right to acquire up to an 80 per cent interest in the Gidgee project.

“This is a long-awaited development for both companies and now with the farm-in agreement operating we look forward to Gateway progressing exploration on this significant landholding in the highly prospective Gum Creek Belt after several years without any significant activity,” Golden Mile Resources managing director James Merrillees said in the company’s ASX announcement.

“Gidgee is prospective for both gold and base metal mineralisation and Golden Mile retains a 20 per cent interest allowing our shareholders to benefit from any exploration upside and success.

“This farm-in is consistent with Golden Mile’s strategy to concentrate resources on our core assets, specifically at Yarrambee and Yuinmery, where drilling programs are planned to commence over the coming months, and where we aim to create additional shareholder value.”

Golden Mile Resources to Reassess Quicksilver Metallurgy

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Golden Mile Resources (ASX: G88) has committed to a second phase of metallurgical testing on the company’s 100 per cent-owned Quicksilver nickel-cobalt project, located just outside Perth, in the Wheatbelt Region of Western Australia.

The decision follows a desk top review recently completed by leading nickel laterite processing engineers Wood Mining and Metals Australia to assess the potential of the Quicksilver project to produce a concentrate on site for either export from one of several nearby ports, processing by an existing local refinery or downstream processing by the Company.

The Wood review noted limitations in earlier test work, leading the engineers to recommended further metallurgical investigations focused on a less energy intensive conceptual flowsheet.

Golden Mile’s previous metallurgical testwork identified potential to beneficiate the Quicksilver mineralisation, however these studies were limited by focussing on assessing the direct acid leaching performance.

The Quicksilver project currently has a resource of 26.3 million tonnes at 0.64 per cent nickel and 0.04 per cent cobalt for more than 16,000 tonnes of contained nickel.

“We are very pleased to join forces with Wood to initiate further metallurgical test work looking at beneficiation options to upgrade the nickel resource at the Quicksilver nickel-cobalt project,” Golden Mile Resources managing director James Merrillees said in the company’s ASX announcement.

“This is an obvious opportunity to extract value for our shareholders, and we see the potential for a low-cost operation to produce a beneficiated product for export through nearby ports or feed to a local Western Australian nickel refinery.

“The Quicksilver beneficiation testwork will get underway at the same time as we push hard to progress on-ground exploration at our exciting Yarrambee copper-zinc project, where geophysical crews will be in the field later this month in preparation for drilling.”

Golden Mile Resources to Commence Ground EM Survey at Yarrambee

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Golden Mile Resources (ASX: G88) is preparing a ground electromagnetic (EM) survey to commence in September over high priority HEM conductors on the company’s 100 per cent-owned Yarrambee base metals project in the Murchison Region of Western Australia.

The ground EM survey follows results of a 1,342 line-kilometre, helicopter-borne electromagnetic (HEM) survey the company completed in July that identified 48 conductors that Golden Mile has interpreted to be related to sulphide accumulations in the basement rocks and potential VMS-style copper-zinc mineralisation.

“Three high priority target areas have been identified for immediate follow up and we are now ready to refine the targets within these areas by combining the HEM survey data with historical drilling data and collecting ground EM to provide us with the best possible drill test sites,” Golden Mile Resources managing director James Merrillees said in the company’s ASX announcement.

“It’s an exciting time for Golden Mile and we look forward to rapidly advancing exploration on these outstanding targets.

“We already have approvals in place for drilling and look forward to finalising drill-ready targets over the coming weeks.”

Golden Mile Resources Defines Drill Targets at Yuinmery

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Golden Mile Resources (ASX: G88) reported on a recently completed soil sampling campaign undertaken on the company’s Yuinmery project within the Murchison Region of Western Australia.

The Yuinmery project covers prospective portions of the Youanmi Complex, located approximately 500 kilometres north-east of Perth.

Golden Mile resources collected 451 samples it claims to have confirmed a broad zone of surface gold anomalism associated with the Elephant Reef and Ladies Patch prospects, each of which extend over more than 800 metres adjacent to the regional Yuinmery Shear Zone.

The sampling also defined the new Grey Beard prospect south of Ladies Patch covering an area more than one square kilometre with up to 300ppb gold in soils with no previous drilling.

Limited historical drilling has previously highlighted the prospectivity of the Yuinmery Shear Zone, albeit generally shallow with no follow up RC or diamond drilling reported.

Golden Mile indicated it is planning ground-based work to rapidly advance exploration on these targets at Yuinmery, including further infill soil sampling, aircore drilling traverses and deeper RC to follow up historical intersections.

“These newly identified targets are in addition to samples confirming the broad zone of gold anomalism at the Elephant Reef and Ladies Patch prospects which are adjacent to a major controlling structure in an exploration hot spot,” Golden Mile Resources managing director James Merrillees said in the company’s ASX announcement.

“Golden Mile has long held the view that Yuinmery is an outstanding early-stage exploration play and we are now working up a program to advance these targets which highlight the opportunity for a significant gold discovery.”

Golden Mile Resources Flying Airborne EM Survey at Yarrambee

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Golden Mile Resources (ASX: G88) is having a helicopter borne electromagnetic (HEM) survey carried out at the company’s Yarrambee project in the Murchison Region of Western Australia.

The Yarrambee project covers prospective portions of the Narndee Igneous Complex (NIC) approximately 500 kilometres north-east of Perth, where Golden Mile is targeting ‘feeder-systems’ associated with mafic-ultramafic intrusions, usually considered prospective for nickel-copper-platinum group element (PGE) mineralisation like others in WA, including Nova-Bollinger in the Fraser Range (ASX: IGO) and Julimar in the Darling Ranges (ASX: CHN).

Yarrambee also covers portions of the surrounding Yaloginda Formation, which Golden Miles considers prospective for volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) copper-zinc mineralisation, including two high quality, advanced prospects identified at Narndee and Yalanga Bore.

Golden Mile has engaged NRG Australia to fly the HEM survey over prospective parts of the NIC utilising the latest generation proprietary Excite system with the aim to identify conductors prospective for nickel-copper-PGE and copper-zinc sulphide mineralisation.

“This is an exciting opportunity for the company to apply modern exploration techniques over a large landholding in Western Australia with demonstrated prospectivity to host magmatic nickel-copper-PGE and VMS base metals deposits,” Golden Mile Resources managing director James Merrillees said in the company’s ASX announcement.

“Modern airborne electromagnetics such as the company’s upcoming Excite survey are proven to be an effective tool to quickly screen large areas for metal-rich massive sulphide accumulations, and our focus will be to identify and refine targets for drill testing as soon as we can in the coming months.”

Golden Mile Resources Hits High-Grade Gold at Benalla Project

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Golden Mile Resources (ASX: G88) provided the market with an early-Monday-morning wake up call to report exciting aircore drilling results from within the company’s Leonora gold project located near Kalgoorlie in Western Australia.

Golden Mile Resources reported results achieved at the Wanghi prospect, within the Benalla project, within the Leonora project indicating the intersection of a wide zone of high-grade gold mineralisation.

Latest results include:

BTAC187
33 metres at 1.6 grams per tonne gold from 48m, including 16m at 2.95g/t gold from 61m;

BTAC188
3m at 2.74g/t gold from 15m; and

BTAC189
4m at 0.51g/t gold from 36m.

Mapping at Wanghi has identified a previously unrecognised structural trend controlling gold mineralisation which has been lightly tested by the current drilling program.

The newly identified structural zone presents a new target for testing with RC drilling planned to commence mid-late next month.

Re-assay of 1m splits of significant intersections from the 2020 aircore program returned a high-grade intersection of:

BTAC082
1m at 10.6g/t gold from 30m.

“These are exciting results for the company,” Golden Mile Resources managing director James Merrillees said.

“We intersected further wide zones of strong gold mineralisation in fresh rock at Wanghi, and the recognition of important structures controlling mineralisation provides an important new targeting tool for the follow up RC drilling planned next month.

“The plus 10-gram gold intersection in hole BTAC082 at Wanghi also points to the potential for high-grade in the system and is further endorsement of our belief in Benalla to host a meaningful gold system immediately along strike from KIN Mining’s 1.15 million ounces Cardinia Gold Project.

“With assay results received for only six out of a total of 81 holes drilled to date we are looking forward to a period of strong news flow over the coming months.”
