Musgrave Minerals Continues High-Grade Gold Hits

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Musgrave Minerals (ASX: MGV) reported additional high-grade gold results from the reverse circulation (RC) drilling program underway at the Break of Day and Lena gold prospects on the company’s Joint Venture Cue project in the Murchison region of Western Australia.

From the Break of Day prospect, individual one-metre assay results for a further eight drill holes from the current phase two drill program on the prospect have been received.

On the Velvet Lode, drill hole 17MORC046 intersected 1 metres at 9 grams per tonne gold from 160m down hole.

On the Twilight Lode Drill hole 17MORC053 intersected 4m at 28.5g/t gold from 99m down hole and
drill hole 17MORC054 intersected 4m at 15.6g/t gold.

Musgrave said these infill drill holes are designed to define the continuity of gold mineralisation within the broader high-grade shoots with further assays expected within weeks.

From the Lena prospect, Musgrave has received assay results for eight drill holes, undertaken with the aim of extending and infilling the existing mineralisation to improve the shallow resource and to enhance the open cut mining potential at the prospect.

Results from Lena include:

17MORC045
2m at 7.7g/t gold from 26m down hole;

17MORC064
Intersected near surface mineralisation including:
1m at 3g/t gold from 5m
1m at 3g/t gold from 10m and
3m at 1.8g/t gold from 18m down hole.

17MORC69
4m at 3.4g/t gold from 101m
5m at 7.8g/t gold from 118m and
6m at 1.7g/t gold from 129m down hole.

“These results continue to support the high-grade nature of the Break of Day and Lena gold systems and are helping to grow our confidence in the geology and forthcoming resource estimation,” Musgrave Minerals managing director Rob Waugh said in the company’s announcement to the Australian Securities Exchange.

“The drill testing of the new high-priority base metal targets is exciting and provides a new discovery opportunity for the company.”

De Grey Mining Drilling at Pilbara Gold Project

THE DRILL SERGEANT: De Grey Mining (ASX: DEG) has a Reverse Circulation (RC) drill rig operating on the Mallina prospect, at the company’s Pilbara gold project near Port Hedland in Western Australia.

Ge Grey Mining said the planned drilling program is aimed at expanding resources, which currently stand at 18.9 million tonnes at 1.7 grams per tonne gold for 1.02 million ounces of gold.

The main targets of the RC drilling program include:

Mallina – a four-kilometre-long gold target, which has previously yielded encouraging shallow wide spaced drilling results including:

4m at 9.11g/t gold
6m at 3.79g/t gold
7m at 5.45g/t gold
23m at 2.52g/t gold
3m at 12.49g/t gold and
29m at 1.7g/t gold

Mt Berghaus – a five-kilometre-long anomaly with defined resources of 3.5 million tonnes at 1.2g/t gold for 141,000 ounes that remains open with 3km of the anomaly still to be drill tested.

Withnell Trend – a twenty-kilometre-long gold trend with defined resources of 9.2 million tonnes at 1.8g/t gold for 538,000 ounces that remain open.

Ge Grey has identified a number of walk-up drill targets it claims exist between the existing deposits and along parallel structures where very limited drilling has been completed.

Drill intercepts, not included in the current existing resources to be followed-up include:

7m at 1.59g/t gold
17m at 2.07g/t gold
38m at 1.07g/t gold
6m at 5.32g/t gold and
16m at 2.01g/t gold

“At Mallina, the drilling program comprises an initial program of 80 holes for approximately 6,000 metres and is designed to infill and confirm continuity of gold mineralisation between existing drill holes and also the potential for multiple stacked gold lodes,” De Grey Mining said in its ASX announcement.

“Drilling commenced last week, with 22 holes currently completed for a total of 1,556 metres.

“The first batch of samples have been dispatched to the laboratory with all results pending.

“Geological logging indicates the mineralisation is associated with alteration along the margins of a series of porphyry intrusions and quartz veining within a sequence of siltstone and shales.

“This style of mineralisation is similar to that observed at Mt Berghaus.”

Rox Resources Hits Fisher East with Diamond Rig

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Rox Resources (ASX: RXL) has commenced diamond drilling at the company’s Fisher East nickel sulphide project in Western Australia.

Rox Resources said that three key targets are due to be tested looking for deep extensions of known resources and mineralisation at the highly-prospective project.

The program will include diamond drill holes at the Sabre prospect, targeting a large EM conductor previously identified by shallow RC drilling and intersected massive and disseminated nickel sulphides.

Rox explained the latest program will test the EM conductor at around 250 metres below surface to establish any potential for further massive sulphides at Sabre and to provide indications of the potential size and extent of the mineralisation.

Diamond drill holes at Camelwood will test for extensions of massive sulphides below the current extent of the resource, where the deepest intersection was at around 500 metres below surface, returning 1.6m at 3.7 per cent, and currently open at depth.

At Musket, a diamond hole is planned to test a strong downhole EM target some 150m from the limit of the current resource.

Massive nickel sulphides at Musket returned grades greater than 20 per cent nickel and Rox considers this conductor may represent the extension of the Musket orebody.

“Extensions of the mineral resources at Camelwood and Musket, and the confirmation of a mineral resource at Sabre would add significant value to the Fisher East project,” Rox Resources managing director Ian Mulholland said in the company’s announcement to the Australian Securities Exchange.

“We look forward to the results with anticipation.”

Rox Resources has been granted EIS (Exploration Incentive Scheme) funding by the Western Australian Government for the drilling at Sabre ($72,000) and Camelwood ($119,200).

The recent RC drilling program at Fisher East, which tested targets at Cutlass, Sabre North, Mt Tate, Tomahawk, Horatio and Claymore has been completed and assays are awaited.

Blackham Resources Reserve Drilling Continues to Encounter Shallow Mineralisation

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Blackham Resources (ASX: BLK) released an update on progress of Reserve definition drilling completed on the East and West lodes at the company’s Matilda/Wiluna gold operation in Western Australia.

Blackham Resources explained the results from the drilling will be used as the basis for a Resource and Reserve update in support of the project’s Stage 2 expansion plans.

A Preliminary Expansion Study released in May 2017, confirmed the ability to grow production beyond 200,000 ounces per annum at the Matilda/Wiluna gold operation.

Blackham said the infill drilling at the East and West lodes had continued to confirm shallow, high-grade remnant mineralisation, particularly adjacent to and between historical stopes (mined 1930’s to 1950’s), which the company expects to fall within open pit cut-backs.

The company has interpreted the recent drill results to indicate pit cut backs are likely to extend further to the north and south.

Drilling at the southern end of the West Lode intersected a previously unknown high-grade shoot with results (downhole widths quoted) including:

WURC0312

12 metres at 8.19 grams per tonne gold from 190m and 19m at 12.58g/t gold from 210m (337 grams per metre);

WUDD0016
15.4m at 21.04g/t gold from 156.6m (324g/m); and

WURC0313
21m at 5.2g/t gold from 210m and 10m at 5.55g/t gold from 275m (165g/m).

Drilling carried out in the Central Lodes, linking the East and West lodes, also intersected further broad, shallow, potentially economic mineralisation which currently sits outside the optimised pit shells.

“The high-grade East and West lode drill results combined with the broad zones of mineralisation with the Central Zone, are likely to extend the planned East West PES pits significantly further north towards North pit,” Blackham Resources explained in its ASX announcement.

“All the mineralisation in the Central Zone is outside the current Mineral Resource and will be included in the next resource update.”

Highlights from the shallow Central Lodes include (downhole widths quoted):

WURC0236
35m at 3.53g/t gold from 18m, including 4m at 9.83g/t gold from 38m and 2m at 7.33g/t gold from 47m (124g/m);

WURC0277
38m at 2.34g/t gold from 4m, including 8m at 5.94 g/t from 24m (89g/m);

WURC0475
10m at 3.73g/t gold from 10m, including 3m at 8.8g/t gold from 11m (37g/m);

WURC0471
12m at 1.41g/t gold from 4m and 11m at 2.25g/t gold from 31m (17g/m); and

WURC0476
10m at 1.62g/t gold from 17m, including 1m at 7.62g/t gold from 22m (16g/m).

“The previous successful drilling which extended the West Lode mineralisation further north combined with the shallow mineralisation in the Central Lode between West and North pits is likely to help these pits merge together,” Blackham said.

Alliance Resources Commences Drilling at Zealous Target

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Alliance Resources (ASX: AGS) announced commencement of reverse circulation (RC) drilling at the Zealous base metals prospect at the Wilcherry Project Joint Venture in South Australia.

Alliance Resources is manager of the Wilcherry Project Joint Venture between Alliance (51%) and Tyranna Resources (ASX: TYX) (49%).

Alliance described Zealous as a 1st order conductive target that was identified by a helicopter-borne electromagnetic (HEM) survey undertaken during December 2016.

The target was subsequently confirmed by a high-powered moving loop electromagnetic (MLEM) survey completed in March 2017.

Five RC holes will initially test the two conductors that make up the target.

Three holes are planned to test the Zealous Main Conductor and 2 holes at the Zealous NW Conductor.

“The first (southwestern most) hole, currently at 180 metres, has encountered deep regolith consisting mainly of kaolinite and very fine sand, which is causing slow RC drilling,” Alliance Resources said in its ASX announcement.

“The holes will be monitored over the next few days to see whether diamond tails are required to complete the holes.”

Drilling at Zealous between 2012 and 2014 intersected high tin grades, including:

12ZLRC007
20 metres at 1.29 per cent tin from 42m;

13ZLDH001
12.3m at 1.1 per cent tin from 119m; and

13ZLRC001
10m at 1.23 per cent tin from 128m.

Alliance Resources indicated that following completion of the drilling at Zealous, 3 RC holes are planned to test MLEM conductors at the Telephone Dam zinc-lead-silver prospect, followed by 27 RC holes at the Weednanna gold prospect.

Lefroy Exploration Identifies Broad Gold Zone at Red Dale

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Lefroy Exploration (ASX: LEX) released results from an initial reverse circulation (RC) drilling program undertaken at the Red Dale prospect at the company’s Lefroy gold project (LGP), south east of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia.

Lefroy Exploration said the drilling had been designed to target the source of a gold footprint identified in the regolith by historic drilling, and to improve definition of gold located at the base of the palaeochannel.

The company claims the new drilling has confirmed and reinforced tenor of the gold mineralisation at the base of a palaeochannel over a 320 metre strike length that is open to the north and south.

Results from the 26 holes drilled returned multiple shallow gold intersections including:

LEFR013

6 metres at 1.75 grams per tonne gold from 42m;

LEFR006

9m at 1.69g/t gold from 41m;

LEFR002

7m at 1.44g/t gold from 47m; and

LEFR018

7m at 1.16g/t gold from 49m.

Lefroy explained the gold system identified by the drilling to be situated one kilometre north of Silver Lake Resources’ (ASX: SLR) Randall’s processing plant.

“The results demonstrate the robust nature and tenor of gold at the base of the palaeochannel and opens the opportunity to evaluate numerous other occurrences at the Red Dale prospect,” Lefroy Exploration said in its ASX announcement.

“Preparations are now underway to conduct follow up RC drilling with a Program of Works-Exploration recently lodged.”

St George Mining Drilling Full Tilt at East Laverton

THE DRILL SERGEANT: St George Mining (ASX: SGQ) has a major drill program underway on the company’s its 100% owned East Laverton project in Western Australia.

St George Mining said the drilling is being carried out to test gold and nickel sulphide targets at the East Laverton project with reverse circulation (RC) drilling of gold targets commenced.

St George indicated the multiple gold targets are present on all greenstone belts at the East Laverton project and will be drilled as part of an expanded program of planned drilling.

The company explained that the RC drill rig was unable to complete a drill hole to test a highly conductive EM target at Windsor due to swelling clays in the first 48m encountered from surface.

A diamond drill rig better able to handle the ground conditions, is due at East Laverton next week to drill the 210,000 Seimens EM conductor.

“The powerful EM conductor at Windsor remains untested by drilling,” St George Mining executive chairman, John Prineas said in the company’s announcement to the Australian Securities Exchange.

“We have secured a diamond drill rig at short notice and expect to be drilling this exceptional nickel sulphide target next week.

“The RC drilling of gold targets is progressing well and we are working with our laboratory to ensure a quick turnaround for assays.

“We are pleased to be able to expand the program to test more of our high quality gold targets.”

Peel Mining Intercepts Wirlong Host Structure at Depth

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Peel Mining (ASX: PEX) reported on progress being made with the drill bit at the company’s 60 per cent-owned Wirlong prospect near Cobar in western New South Wales.

Peel Mining said that drillhole WLRCDD044 had intercepted the host copper mineralising structure at Wirling, approximately 950 metres below surface, extending the depth of known mineralisation by approximately 350m.

The company acknowledged the mineralised interval from around 1004m to 1018m to be visually modest in tenor, however, Peel said it was encouraged by the confirmation of continuity of the host mineralising structure to nearly one kilometre below surface.

“As a result of the continued exploration success at Wirlong and the potential the prospect shows to host an analogue to Cobar’s CSA copper mine, which shows strong vertical development of mineralisation to approximately 2,000 metres,” Peel Mining said in its ASX announcement.

“Peel and its joint venture partner JOGMEC have agreed to extend the current work program, commencing with drillhole WLRCDD043W1 (underway) targeting an offhole DHEM conductor.”

Peel explained that drillhole WLRCDD044 was designed to test some 200m downdip of drillhole WLRCDD043, which encountered strong copper mineralisation, returning an intercept of:

17 metres at 4.59 per cent copper and 8 grams per tonne silver from 738m.

Ground conditions encountered in drillhole WLRCDD044 resulted in the drillhole diverging from design, intercepting the target zone at a depth of around 950m below surface, approximately 150m deeper than planned.

Peel also advised that drilling at the company’s 100 per cent-owned Wagga Tank prospect (also near Cobar) has resumed with a focus on targeting extensions to the known mineralised system identified by drilling carried out last year.

An initial program of up to 3,000m RC/diamond drilling is aimed at extending the footprint of mineralisation at Wagga Tank with first results anticipated in 6 to 8 weeks.

Lefroy Exploration Recommences Aircore Drilling Program

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Lefroy Exploration (ASX: LEX) has kicked off a follow-up aircore drilling program along the Woolibar Trend in Lake Lefroy at the company’s Lefroy gold project (LGP), located south east of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia.

Lefroy Exploration said the follow up drilling is being carried out to further evaluate new gold anomalies identified during a preliminary exploration program completed in February.

The new drilling has been designed to reaffirm the Ccmpany’s concept on the emerging gold prospectivity along or proximal to the Woolibar Fault.

Lefroy explained it had completed an early stage aircore drill program in February to evaluate seven priority target areas located within the eastern part of Lake Lefroy in its wholly-owned tenements.

The seven targets comprised six conceptual targets Lefroy had defined from geophysical datasets and one geochemical target known as the Zanex prospect, where previous drilling by Cyprus Gold Australia Limited in 1997 intersected 6 metres at 2.97 grams per tonne gold from wide spaced aircore drilling that was never followed up.

“The results from the February drill program have reaffirmed the tenor of gold at the Zanex prospect and highlighted two new and emerging targets at LLT04 and LLT06 that are based upon a subtle geochemical gold signature, a favourable geological environment and trends defined from aeromagnetic data,” Lefroy Exploration said in its ASX announcement.

“The aim of the program is to follow up and extend the gold anomaly recently identified but also to test the sharp contact zone as defined from both the aeromagnetic and gravity data.

“This geological contact is considered by the Company to be a prospective area for gold mineralisation, with contrasting rock units that could be a favourable structural environment.”

Kin Mining in Drilling Frenzy at Lewis Gold Discovery

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Kin Mining (ASX: KIN) has commenced an initial 5,000 metres Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling program at the company’s recently discovered Lewis gold deposit.

Kin Mining said the drilling will be targeting extensions to the high-grade primary mineralisation discovered at Lewis, which included a best Intersection of 5 metres at 117 grams per tonne gold .

The company claims its recent drilling, when combined with historic drilling, has defined a mineralised structure estimated to have a strike length of at least 500m.

Kin explained the Lewis area had previously been regarded to be highly prospective for shallow, free-digging supergene gold mineralisation.

The company considers the recent primary intersections suggest supergene resources at Lewis could represent the top of a large mineralised shear system with potentially higher-grade mineralisation at depth.

Kin believes this has opened a new search space for opening potential exploration and resource development opportunities.

“It’s still early days, but the discovery of the Lewis primary mineralisation has given the Leonora Gold Project a huge boost,” Kin Mining managing director Don Harper said in the company’s announcement to the Australian Securities Exchange.

“The presence of high-grade mineralisation beneath our supergene resources presents as a golden opportunity to potentially add to the existing Mineral Resources in the heart of the Cardinia Mining Centre.

“The current drilling program aims to increase our understanding of the significance of this discovery by both infill drilling within the current interpreted extents of the mineralisation and also to test for extensions to the mineralised envelope.

“If we can bring high-grade mineralisation into the front end of the mine plan we expect it would significantly enhance the project economics.

“It is an exciting time for the company as we march towards gold production while maintaining an aggressive drilling program to further investigate this potential game-changer for the company.”
