Kin Mining Takes LGP Over 1M Ounces

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Kin Mining (ASX: KIN) announced a revised Mineral Resource for the company’s Leonora gold project (LGP) in Western Australia.

Kin Mining said the LGP Resources have increased by 42 per cent on the previous estimate, and now total 22.3 million tonnes at 1.43 grams per tonne gold for 1.02 million ounces of gold.

The company attributed the increase in the Resources to a recently completed program of Reverse Circulation (RC) resource drilling, which extended mineralised domains at multiple deposits.

Recent primary gold discoveries at the Lewis and Helens-Fiona deposits have also been incorporated into the Mineral Resource.

The Leonora gold project consists of three principle Mining Centres.

The total 22.3 million tonnes Mineral Resource is distributed among these Mining Centres as follows:

Mertondale: 11.6 million tonnes at 1.4g/t gold for 521,000 ounces of gold;
Cardinia: 6.91 million tonnes at 1.33g/t gold for 296,000 ounces of gold, and
Raeside: 3.82 million tonnes at 1.68g/t gold for 206,000 ounces of gold.

“This is an outstanding result which gives Kin a clear pathway to project development, production and cashflow,” Kin Mining managing director Don Harper said in the company’s announcement to the Australian Securities Exchange.

“The new Resource estimate provides a strong foundation for the estimation of the maiden Ore Reserve at the LGP, which will form part of the Definitive Feasibility Study set for completion later this quarter.

“There is also immense potential to continue growing our inventory within the Tier-1 Leonora district and we will pursue that upside in parallel with our project development plan.”

Alto Metals Review of Havilah-Maninga Marley Drilling Comes Up Trumps

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Alto Metals (ASX: AME) claimed to have identified the Havilah-Maninga Marley prospect at the company’s 100 per cent-owned Sandstone gold project in Western Australia to have high-grade gold drill intercepts over a strike of 1,500 metres.

Alto Metals said the identification stemmed from a compilation of previous explorers’ data the company is conducting, which has demonstrated the Havilah-Maninga Marley prospect to be sitting within mafic volcanic host rocks similar to its recently drilled Vanguard prospect.

The review has revealed Maninga Marley RC intercepts, including:

6 metres at 15.8 grams per tonne gold, 3m at 13g/t gold and 7m at 10g/t gold.

“The 1,500 metre strike of the Havilah – Maninga Marley workings, the numerous shallow high-grade drill intersections and the strongly mineralised (dolerite/ultramafic) host is very encouraging,” Alto Metals managing director Dermot Ryan said in the company’s announcement to the Australian Securities Exchange.

“Western Australian Archaean hosted gold deposits in these types of rocks have been found to have great depth extent, and the shallow workings and previous explorer’s shallow RC holes have not fully tested the prospect.”

Silver City Minerals Drilling at Copper Blow

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Silver City Minerals (ASX: SCI) has commenced drilling at the company’s high-grade Copper Blow project south of Broken Hill.

Silver City Minerls said the drilling program will include both reverse circulation (RC) and diamond drilling (DD) and total approximately 2,600 metres.

The company outlined its current plan to be to drill ten holes, the first four of which will be located southwest of the Stenhouse Shaft to test for extensions to high-grade copper mineralisation encountered in historic diamond drill holes.

“Three of these are RC pre-collars for deeper diamond hole extensions and will be drilled largely within barren host rocks and might take six days to complete,” Silver City Minerals said in its ASX announcement.

“The deeper, diamond core tails on these holes are anticipated to encounter copper-gold mineralisation and will take approximately fourteen days to complete depending on geological conditions.”

Silver City said the remaining six RC-only holes located mainly to the northeast of the Stenhouse Shaft will test beneath broad shallow historic intersections that encountered similar copper hits.

These will be drilled after diamond drilling is completed in the south.

The company expects completion of the program before the end of September, with final analytical results in mid to late October.

Southern gold Hits High-Grade Gold at Cannon Underground

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Southern Gold (ASX: SAU) has encountered very high-grade gold results from a 31 hole Reverse Circulation (RC) drill program undertaken at the company’s Cannon gold mine near Kalgoorlie in Western Australia.

Southern Gold explained the drilling had been undertaken from the open pit access ramp to define and extend high-grade gold zones below the open pit base in support of underground mine design.

Highlights of the recent drilling include:

BSRC276

10m at 18 grams per tonne gold from 63m, including 5m at 31.1g/t gold from 66m

BSRC279

6m at 25.9g/t gold from 44m, including 4m at 34.9g/t gold from 45m

BSRC283

12m at 11.4g/t gold from 53m, including 7m at 17.7g/t gold from 54m

BSRC290

22m at 5.36g/t gold from 44m, including 4m at 9.9g/t gold from 47m

BSRC296

12m at 9g/t gold from 57m, including 8m at 11.1g/t gold from 60m

BSRC301

17m at 7g/t gold from 46m, including 7m at 7.9g/t gold from 51m

BSRC303

13m at 7.5g/t gold from 56m, including 8m at 10.8g/t gold from 60m

In addition to the above, drill hole BSRC290 also identified a new parallel high-grade lens at depth below the main zone with 3m at 15.2g/t gold from 79m downhole.

Southern Gold said several intersections from the Cannon underground delineation drill program highlighted the continuing high-grade Cannon gold ore shoots.

It also showed parallel ore shoots with anomalous grade appear to be developing in the footwall at depth.

The Cannon shear is also, based upon early interpretation of logging, steepening at depth and is possibly located to the east of its current modelled position.

Southern Gold said the recent RC drilling has better defined the extent of the high-grade zones below the Cannon open pit, which it considers, in many cases will result in an extension and upgrade to the block model.

The company has interpreted this as being encouraging for an underground gold mine development, which could result in very high-grade gold being mined on at least three levels with the deposit remaining open at depth.

The Cannon gold deposit is now being re-interpreted and modelled in preparation for a new resource estimation and, ultimately, a more detailed underground mine development proposal.

“These are excellent drill results that go a long way to confirming a potential very high-grade underground operation,” Southern Gold managing director Simon Mitchell said in the company’s announcement to the Australian Securities Exchange.

“The shear structure appears to steepen and broadly speaking the grades appear to be improving with depth.

“There is still much work to be done to extend the deposit at depth with some step out drilling but Cannon remains an excellent deposit that may be improving with depth and we look forward to advancing the mine into its next stage.”

Corazon Mining Confirms Large Mineralised Trend at Fraser Lake Complex

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Corazon Mining (ASX: CZN) has received assay results from a Phase 3 drilling program at the Fraser Lake Complex (FLC), near the company’s 100 per cent-owned Lynn Lake nickel-copper-cobalt Mining Centre in Canada.

Corazon Mining has been conducting large mineralised system exploration at the FLC since December 2016, which has included drilling, ground geophysics, downhole geophysics and geochemistry.

The large amount of data generated is currently being collated for interpretation and modelling.

The work involved three phases of drilling completed within the FLC since January this year, including ten holes into the Matrix Trend, a 1.7 kilometre long Induced Polarisation chargeability anomaly, interpreted as the feeder zone for the intrusive complex.

“Drilling within the Matrix Trend indicated that multiple pulses of sulphide-rich magma have been injected into the FLC,” Corazon Mining said in its ASX announcement.

“The nickel-copper-cobalt mineralisation within the Matrix Trend is significant in that it identifies the feeder zone of the FLC as a long-lived, multi-phase, well-mineralised magmatic system with the potential to develop high-grade sulphide deposits.”

Corazon noted that all holes drilled within the Matrix Trend, across all programs, were extensively mineralised for their entire lengths.

Results included:

FLC-2017-14
53.1 metres at 0.68 per cent nickel equivalent from 261m; and

FLC-2017-16
27m at 0.61 per cent nickel equivalent from 30m.

The intensity of the iron-nickel-copper (Fe-Ni-Cu) magmatic sulphide mineralisation Corazon intersected varied from weakly disseminated to strongly disseminated, matrix to semi-massive and massive styles.

The company observed nickel and copper-bearing sulphides throughout the drill core.

“Drilling of the Matrix Trend has defined a stratified feeder dyke and sulphide mineralisation within a horizontal flow of more than 925 metres,” the company said.

“Analysis of more than twenty geochemical variables has defined at least three significant nickel-copper-cobalt enriched magmatic cycles, each supporting narrow, higher-grade metal content (1.3%Ni to 2.9%Ni).”

Pacific Bauxite Identifies High-Grade South West New Georgia Bauxite

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Pacific Bauxite (ASX: PBX) has completed its first phase of exploration at the company’s South West New Georgia bauxite project (SWNG) in the Western province of the Solomon Islands.

Pacific Bauxite carried out a reconnaissance sampling program including 185 hand-auger drill holes and 26 shallow test-pits at the project, which it said delivered exceptional initial results with extensive areas of bauxitic soils identified throughout the project area.

Using a hand-held XRF, Pacific Bauxite achieved results for 164 samples, with 82 of these returning results of more than 40 per cent alumina (Al2O3).

Three high grade areas have been defined to date, with all returning results around 50 per cent Al2O3 (12 samples in total greater than 50 per cent.

“The company believes SWNG is prospective for large tonnage direct shipping ore (DSO) bauxite mineralisation, and is analogous with the bauxite deposits of the Nendo and Rennell Islands, both within the Solomon Islands,” Pacific Bauxite said in its ASX annuncement.

“This style of mineralisation provides the opportunity for quick, cost-effective resource definition and a simple, low cost, dig-load-ship style minin operation.”

Pacific Bauxite indicated the sampling it has completed to date shows the mineralisation at SWNG contains slightly higher silicon dioxide (SiO2) content than the company’s other Solomon Islands bauxite project, the Nendo project.

However, with results as low as 5.5 per cent total SiO2 and almost one third of the samples below 16 per cent total SiO2, the company considers there to be potential to delineate tonnages of DSO quality, high value material with lower silica content.

“The critical ‘reactive silica’ content is expected to be substantially less than the total SiO2 content measured by the hand held XRF,” the company elucidated.

“The ‘reactive silica’ and ‘available alumina’ analysis for these samples cannot be tested with the handheld XRF tool, as such these samples will also be sent to a certified Australian laboratory for analysis.”

Alliance Resources Drills Impressive Numbers at Weednanna

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Alliance Resources (ASX: AGS) announced drilling results from a reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at the Weednanna gold prospect in South Australia.

The Weednanna prospect is part of the Wilcherry Project Joint Venture between Alliance and Tyranna Resources (ASX: TYX).

The RC drilling program was completed in June and was designed to test the geometry and plunge continuity of three high-grade gold shoots referred to as Targets 1, 2 and 3.

A total of 25 RC holes were drilled (17WDRC025-49), eighteen of which reported intercepts greater than one gram per tonne of gold, with five holes returning greater than 50g/t-metre gold.

High-grade gold results from the Weednanna prospect drilling include:

17WDRC032
60 metres at 5.65 grams per tonne gold from 47m, including 9m at 15.57g/t gold from 63m and 8m at 13.38g/t gold from 99m;

17WDRC030
16m at 7.66g/t gold from 81m, including 8m at 12.9g/t gold from 88m;

17WDRC029
30m at 2.95g/t gold from 53m;

17WDRC046
7m at 12.15g/t gold from 153m, including 4m at 18.81g/t gold from 154m; and

17WDRC031
41m at 1.62g/t gold from 44m.

Alliance Resources said the improved understanding of the mineralisation style at Weednanna will be used to better define the distribution of gold at the prospect.

“The Board is encouraged by these excellent results and as our understanding of the controls on the gold mineralisation increases, Weednanna should continue to develop toward becoming a significant South Australian gold project for Alliance and its shareholders,” Alliance Resources managing director Steve Johnston said in the company’s announcement to the Australian Securities Exchange.

Auroch Minerals to Commence Drilling on Back of Sampling Results

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Auroch Minerals (ASX: AOU) reported the latest round of grab samples from historic waste dumps at the Company’s Tisová mine in the Czech Republic.

Auroch Minerals said the samples had confirmed encouraging grades of cobalt, copper, gold and silver.

The best results returned: 0.69 per cent cobalt, 17.1 per cent copper, 3.7ppm gold and 178ppm silver.

“The results from the waste dumps at the Tisová Minesite confirming the potential for a polymetallic orebody, with confirmation of economic grades of cobalt, in addition to copper, gold and silver we are looking forward to the commencement of the drilling program in September 2017,” Auroch Minerals CEO Dr Andrew Tunks said in the company’s announcement to the Australian Securities Exchange.

“Further our analysis of historic drilling at Tisová demonstrates the potential for a substantial tonnage orebody, with over one kilometre of strike and dip confirmed in the data and more importantly, open at depth and along strike.”

Auroch said it has received Government approval to commence the initial 12 holes to be drilled at Tisová.

Having now received results from the initial 40 grab samples, the company declared it is ready to proceed to drilling, on target, mid-September.

Auroch indicated it will commence its drilling campaign with an initial four holes in the Diamond Drilling phase to examine the spatial distribution of the metals within the deposit.

MOD Resources Increases T3 Copper Resource

THE DRILL SERGEANT: MOD Resources (ASX: MOD) announced a substantial increase to the Mineral Resource at the company’s T3 copper project in Botswana following inclusion of recently completed drilling.

The T3 project forms part of a Joint Venture between MOD (70%) and AIM-listed Metal Tiger (30%), which includes a licence holding in the central and western parts of the Kalahari Copper Belt.

Mod Resources said an assumed cut-off grade of greater than 0.5 per cent copper – that was used for the maiden resource announced in 2016 – was implemented in the revised resource estimate.

The new estimate represents approximately a 27 per cent increase in total resource tonnes to 35.97 million tonnes and a 16 per cent increase in contained copper to approximately 4.09 million tonnes.

The copper grade is 1.14 per cent copper and the silver grade is 12.8 grams per tonne silver.

In addition, 25 per cent of the total resource tonnes of the revised resource at 0.5 per cent copper cut-off (8.9 million tonnes at 1.27 per cent copper and 12.5g/t silver) has converted into the high confidence Measured Resource category.

MOD declared that, assuming a higher cut-off grade (>1.0% Cu), the revised total Mineral Resource comprises 20.57 million tonnes at an average grade of 1.43 per cent copper and 14.7g/t silver.

“The 16 per cent uplift to more than 400,000 tonnes contained copper has potential to add significant value and profitability to this project,” MOD Resources managing director Julian Hanna said in the company’s announcement to the Australian Securities Exchange.

“Coincidently, copper has also risen approximately 30 per cent since the maiden resource was announced, approaching the US$3 per pound copper price used for the upside case in the original T3 scoping study we released on 6 December 2016.

“As a result of these very positive developments, our feasibility study team is rethinking the planned mining schedule and processing rates to be used in the pre-feasibility study.

MOD Resources indicated its recently-announced next phase of drilling at T3 (Phase 2) has commenced, initially with four drill rigs testing the potential for additional resource extensions, high-grade vein mineralisation extending down dip from the planned open pit, and IP and EM targets north of T3.

This program includes holes to test within, below, down dip and along strike from the revised resource.

All six holes completed to date have intersected visible copper mineralisation and results are expected to be announced when assays are received and interpreted.

Alto Metals Encounters More High-Grades at Vanguard

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Alto Metals (ASX: AME) claims to have confirmed high-grade mineralisation identified by a maiden RC drilling program at the Vanguard prospect, within the company’s 100 percent-owned Sandstone gold project in Western Australia.

Alto Metals explained mineralisation confirmation came from assay results from one metre sample intervals of previously announced four metre composite sample results.

High-grade intercepts of up to 77 gram-metres were returned from oxide and fresh (primary) dolerite:

SRC013
6 metres at 5.3 grams per tonne gold from 52m, including 2m at 9.2g/t gold from 52m;

SRC014
12m at 3g/t gold from 87m and 5m at 4.8g/t gold from 103m;

SRC016
2m at 5.5g/t gold from 64m and 18m at 4.3g/t gold from 122m, including 12m at 5.6g/t gold from 126m;

SRC017
11m at 2.2g/t gold from 69m; and

SRC019
8m at 3.6g/t gold from 39m, including 2m at 7.2g/t gold from 44m and 7m at 5.9g/t gold from 52m, including 3m at 11.6g/t gold from 53m

From these results, Alto said it had become apparent the primary mineralisation at Vanguard is hosted in dolerite, which the company considers to be a favourable host rock for larger gold deposits in WA, citing examples of the Barton Dolerite at Northern Star Resources’ Jundee deposits and Gold Fields’ Argo-Junction deposits at St Ives.

“The discovery at Vanguard of open-ended high-grade mineralisation in a dolerite host rock is very encouraging as the largest gold deposit in the St Ives region (at Argo-Junction) and the multimillion ounce Jundee deposit in the Yandal Greenstone Belt are also hosted in dolerite,” Alto Metals managing director Dermot Ryan said in the company’s announcement to the Australian Securities Exchange.

Alto has reappraised the broader Sandstone Greenstone Belt, and re-prioritised its exploration strategy to focus on what it has designated as the ‘Alpha Mafic Volcanic Domain’, a zone encompassing a 20km long mafic volcanic sequence from Indomitable in the north to Maninga Marley in the south.

Alto is now designing a drilling program to extend the Vanguard mineralisation to the southwest and northeast, and to test the dolerite unit hosting Maninga Marley.

The company has lodge multiple Programs of Work with a view to the RC drilling commencing in the latter half of 2017.
