Rox continues nickel hits at Musket
THE DRILL SERGEANT: Rox Resources (ASX: RXL) has recorded further impressive drilling results from a diamond drilling program currently underway at the company’s Musket nickel sulphide prospect near Mt Fisher, north of Kalgoorlie, Western Australia.
According to the company the latest results it has received from Musket have confirmed a coherent body of nickel sulphide mineralisation down to 300 metres depth, which the drilling has yet to close off.
True widths in some holes have been recorded of over 10m thickness with grades of two per cent nickel or better.
Rox is confident these latest results augur well for the estimation of a large maiden resource for Musket later this year.

The recent results from Musket include:
MFED045
9 metres at 1.9 per cent nickel from 268 metres;
MFED046
2.9m at 1.6 per cent nickel from 270m, and 0.3m at 13.3 per cent nickel from 265.2m;
MFED047
7.4m at 1.9 per cent nickel from 295.6m, including 1.4m at 2.5 per cent nickel from 295.6m, and 3.1m at 2.2 per cent nickel from 299.9m;
MFED048
9.6m at 1.2 per cent nickel from 311.5m, including 2.5m at 2.1 per cent nickel from 311.5m;
MFED049
16.9m at 2 per cent nickel from 352.1m, including 6.6m at 2.6 per cent nickel from 358m; and
MFED050
7.7m at 1.8 per cent nickel from 361.0m, including 3m at 2.4 per cent nickel from 363m.
Rox is currently running downhole EM surveying in holes MFED047, 049 and 050.
The company explained EM surveying has proved to be a valuable targeting tool and that it anticipates using the results of this survey to assist in identifying future drill hole locations.
“The mineralisation we are delineating at Musket is much thicker than the 1.6 million tonnes at 2.2 per cent nickel Camelwood deposit, two kilometres to the north,” Rox Resources managing director Ian Mulholland said in the company’s announcement to the Australian Securities Exchange.
“While Camelwood is a very good deposit, Musket is shaping up to add significant new tonnes to our overall project resource.
“In particular, the massive sulphide zone at Musket consistently shows grades between 13 per cent and 19 per cent nickel, and the matrix and disseminated zones are generally 1.5 per cent to 3.5 per cent nickel.
“We’re starting to build a solid resource base now, and that bodes well for future project development.”
Rox is progressing the diamond drilling program at Musket and expects further results to come over the coming weeks.
