Emmerson hits Tennant Creek gold

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Emmerson Resources has claimed to have discovered a new bonanza gold zone within the Tennant Creek Mineral Field.

New diamond drilling carried out by the company on the eight kilometre long Gecko structural corridor at Tennant Creek has hit high‐grade gold mineralisation with bonanza gold grades of up to 93.7 grams of gold per tonne.

The latest results follows recently announced drilling results from Emmerson of high-grade copper and bismuth mineralisation that was identified at two separate projects, Monitor and Goanna, which lie 2.5 km apart.

“The spectacular gold intersection in drill hole GODD008 strongly supports the concept that the eight kilometre long “Gecko Structural” corridor could host multiple, significant, gold and copper‐gold resources,” Emmerson Resources managing director Rob Bills said in the company’s announcement to the Australian Securities Exchange.

The latest drilling undertaken by Emmerson within the Monitor discovery has intersected a thick zone of gold‐copper from 437metres down‐hole including:

–    12 metres at 16.9 grams per tonne gold, 0.13 per cent bismuth, 2.00 per cent copper, 1.59g/t silver and 13.6 per cent iron.

Bonanza gold grades within this zone, in the diamond drill hole highlighted by Bills above, included:

–    4m at 37.4g/t gold, 1.64g/t silver, including 1m at 50.1g/t gold and 1m at 93.7g/t gold and 4.06g/t silver from 437m and 440m respectively down the hole.

An adjacent, but separate gold‐copper zone, from 441m down the drill hole produced intersections including:

–    3m at 17.4g/t gold and 2.66g/t silver, 0.36 per cent bismuth, 4.33 per cent copper, including 1m at 18.9 g/t gold, 3.02g/t silver, 8.47 per cent copper from 442 and 1m at 24.1g/t gold, 3.55g/t silver, 2.99 per cent copper from 443m.

Emmerson said the mineralisation at Monitor is open in all directions with potential to extend the discovery within the Gecko corridor.

The company is continuing drilling to target the copper‐gold discoveries at both Monitor and Goanna.

“We have now confirmed, through our drilling, similar styles of mineralisation at both Monitor and Goanna, some 2.5 kilometres apart,” Bills said.

“We believe the very high bismuth grades intersected with the high grade copper at the Goanna discovery (2.5km to the east), indicates excellent potential for similar bonanza grade gold discoveries.

“There is also excellent potential for additional discoveries as this corridor stretches over eight kilometres and remains largely unexplored for this new style of mineralisation.”
