Corazon Mining Kicks Off Latest Lynn Lake Drilling Campaign

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Corazon Mining (ASX: CZN) has commenced its next phase of drilling at the company’s Lynn Lake nickel-copper-cobalt sulphide project in Canada.

Corazon Mining intends completion of approximately 1,500 metres of diamond core drilling at high priority targets located within the historical Lynn Lake Mining Centre, as well as at regional targets at the Fraser Lake Complex, situated five kilometres south of Lynn Lake.

The drilling at Lynn Lake is aiming to define additional areas of mineralisation that the company considers to have the potential to add to the already substantial resource base.

The company’s recent exploration efforts at Lynn Lake have focused on testing the near surface expressions of historic underground mines, which operated continuously for 24 years until 1976.

Drilling undertaken in December 2019 delivered multiple high-grade nickel sulphide intersections, including:

A Orebody
37.8 metres at 1.68 per cent nickel, 0.67 per cent copper, 0.05 per cent cobalt from 10 metres, including 22.6m at 2.3 per cent nickel, 0.82 per cent copper, 0.068 per cent cobalt from 24.4m;

E Orebody
4.5m at 1.17 per cent nickel, 0.22 per cent copper, 0.029 per cent cobalt from 25m; and
4.1m at 2.09 per cent nickel, 0.57 per cent copper, 0.073 per cent cobalt from 26.9m.

“The current phase of drilling will test both the A Orebody and E Orebody areas and further define the near-surface resource potential of these targets,” Corazon Mining said in its ASX announcement.

The Fraser Lake Complex (FLC) is an intrusive mafic body situated approximately five kilometres south of the Lynn Lake Mining Centre.

Corazon has systematically explored FLC since December 2016, and believes it has the potential to host substantial nickel-copper-cobalt sulphide deposits.

“The sulphide textures and style of mineralisation observed at the FLC are analogous to that observed within the Lynn Lake Mining Centre,” the company observed.

“The recent exploration within the Mining Centre has refined targeting methodologies, particularly with respect to the processing and interpretation of geophysical datasets.

“These new processes have been applied to the FLC, resulting in a much more complete understanding of the framework of the mafic intrusion and generating new geophysical features for testing in this phase of drilling.”

Corazon Mining Intersects Strong Nickel-Copper Sulphide Mineralisation

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Corazon Mining (ASX: CZN) received preliminary results from the first three holes completed in the current phase of drilling at the company’s 100 per cent-owned Lynn Lake nickel-copper-cobalt sulphide Mining Centre in Canada.

Corazon Mining said the preliminary results were highly positive with all three holes intersecting strong sulphide mineralisation, including a broad zone of more than 35 metres of strong sulphide mineralisation (between 7 metres to 42 metres downhole) in hole 7.

The three completed holes (holes 5, 6, 7) have been drilled for a total of approximately 356 metres, targeting areas around the A Orebody that had previously been covered by infrastructure from the A-Shaft and processing plant area within the historical Lynn Lake Mining Centre.

Corazon’s current phase of drilling is focused on the Lynn Lake Mining Centre, where the primary targets are near-surface mineralisation on-strike from historical mines and existing resource areas, with the aim of further expanding the project’s already large resource base.

Approximately 1,200 metres of diamond core drilling are planned for the current program, which is expected to be completed in the current month.

Hole #5 intersected at least five metres of good sulphide mineralisation, before being terminated early due to intersecting what is interpreted to be the backfilled crown pillar stope.

Hole #6 intersected multiple narrow zones of mineralisation, consistent with mineralisation marginal to the Lynn Lake deposits.

Hole #7 intersected a broad zone of plus 35 metres of strong sulphide mineralisation between 7 metres to 42 metres downhole.

“Corazon’s recent mining studies at Lynn Lake have predominantly centred on nickel deposits at depths of more than 400 metres below surface,” Corazon Mining said in its ASX announcement.

“This work has highlighted the potential to define additional resources closer to surface adjacent to Lynn Lake’s historically mined areas.

“These areas are the initial focus for the current drilling program.”

In addition to testing the historical mining areas, Corazon has also defined several new high-potential areas geophysically analogous to the Lynn Lake sulphide deposits within the Lynn Lake Mining Centre, which the company considers to represent further resource upside potential.

Corazon Mining Appoints Terry Streeter as Chairman to Progress Lynn Lake

THE BOURSE WHISPERER: Corazon Mining (ASX: CZN) announced the appointment of Terry Streeter to the company’s board as non-executive chairman.

Corazon Mining said the appointment the leading nickel sector identity and executive will help it drive an accelerated exploration and development program at the company’s Lynn Lake nickel-copper-cobalt sulphide project in the province of Manitoba, Canada.

Corazon holds a 100 per cent beneficial ownership of the Lynn Lake nickel-copper-cobalt sulphide camp.

The company flagged its intentions to re-focus on Lynn Lake as its core asset where it will accelerate work programs to explore for high-grade extensions to existing mines as well as resource expansion.

“I know the Lynn Lake project from my time at Western Areas when the company made a discovery there in 2008,” Streeter said in the company’s announcement to the Australian Securities Exchange.

“The potential of the region has now been further enhanced by Corazon’s recent work and its ability to consolidate the entire mining camp and I’m confident that together we can create something special at Lynn Lake.”

Corazon has consolidated the entire Lynn Lake nickel camp and its extensive historical datasets, which includes more than 75 years of exploration and 24 years of mining information.

Corazon is the first company to have control of the entire Lynn Lake nickel camp since 1976, which provides it the opportunity to compete detailed interrogation and targeting within the mine area and across the wider project area.

Corazon Mining Ready to Recommence Fraser Lake Complex Drilling

THE DRILL SERGEANT: Corazon Mining (ASX: CZN) is preparing to kick off the next phase of drilling at the Fraser Lake Complex (FLC), located just five kilometres south of the company’s 100 per cent-owned Lynn Lake nickel-copper-cobalt Mining Centre in Canada.

Corazon Mining advised that preparation for drilling at the FLC is nearing completion and that drilling is expected to begin the week commencing Monday, 12 February.

Access tracks and drill pads have been completed in preparation for drilling, and the drill rig is on site with personnel currently being mobilised.

Corazon has systematically explored the FLC since December 2016, carrying out a range of activities, including drilling, ground geophysics, downhole geophysics and geochemistry.

“The large amount of data generated from this targeted exploration has produced geophysical and geochemical models supporting the company’s view that the FLC has the potential to host significant nickel-copper-cobalt sulphide deposits,” Corazon Mining said in its ASX announcement.

The company has confirmed a number of priority drill targets from its 2017 fieldwork programs with the initial drill target being a deeply rooted, funnel-shaped, strongly magnetic feature, with similar characteristics to the nearby EL Mine deposit (a high-grade sulphide breccia pipe within the nearby historic Mining Centre).

Corazon has completed a capital raising Placement, funds from which will fully fund the company’s next phase of exploration at its two flagship projects, the Cobalt Ridge deposit within the Mt Gilmore cobalt-copper-gold project in New South Wales and the Fraser Lake Complex within the Lynn Lake nickel-copper-cobalt project in Canada.
